Mesh works on the SM300 but not on the modern Seamasters IMO. Maybe it's the scalloped bezel that jars with the smooth mesh? I don't know.

The original 1120 Speedy-type bracelet works best with the Seamaster. I've never liked the Brosnan-era bracelet – too many links.

imho NO, not on that particular type of mesh !

the Breitling mesh bracelet would work as the mesh size is very small and almost looks bracelet like.

I have exactly the same pairing and like them. Good for the summer.

My wife likes to wear this mesh on my Broadarrow PRS-3, also a good pairing.

Agree - I like the finer mesh compared to some of the postings but that gap just looks like there is something missing. Really spoils it for me. With some sort of end links it looks

My only other mesh bracelet concern woud be whether it rips the hairs off your wrist more than an Oyster type one.

I think that's really smart. Possibly prefer it to the bracelet

Fine mesh looks ok I reckon. No scalping issues with this one.

Ive just been looking at the very nice options on the Watch Gecko (no relation) site. Is there an OEM version though?

No, the blue dial is not right with a mesh.

The older black dial version or even the white dial GMT version but not the blue dial. It looks wrong.

Sorry, it doesn't do it for me. I feel a watch like that needs either a 'proper' bracelet or NATO strap. Just my humble opinion...

    Cheers

I love the original 'Bond' bracelet but am a big fan of mesh too.

Don't understand all these who get their knickers in a twist over any 'gap' between a strap and a case.

The mesh looks great and suits the SMP Bond just fine!

I've updated my Great White (seen above) with a Staib mesh. Not as floppy as the Strapcode mesh and works well with an Omega clasp.

It looks ok on that . Personally selling my Great White was probably my biggest watch regret . Imho the Great White looks amazing on a Blue Isofrane.

Like it a lot, might try something similar on my mid-size quartz. But I'm sure I'll revert to the bracelet eventually if I do. It's almost a watch that's about the bracelet.

    Very nice.

Which clasp is that, and any chance of seeing how it is attached to the Staib?

The clasp is an Omega Ploprof buckle part number OME-94522043. It's 20mm wide. The Staib mesh attaches via spring bars. I bought it from Otto Frei online but can't find it on the website any longer.

    Super, thank you.

Definitely one to keep an eye open for.

I think mesh is great for a real life all rounder - never shows a scratch, cool in summer and deals with sand etc very well.

Well I sold the Seamaster which was in the 1st post last year.

Regretted doing so almost immediately and a few weeks back Bootsy advertised his for sale so had to have it. Anyway it is a beauty, lovely condition.

How it looked when it arrived!

But couldn't resist putting it on the shark mesh strap which I kept off the other one.

    Deja vu anyone?

Ive not seen this thread before..

I like mesh straps....dont know why Ive not tried one on my 2531!

Strangley enough, I was going to start (another!) thread , about alternative straps for the Seamaster....Looks like this could be a serious consideration for me?!

I'm a fan of shark mesh bracelets. They are very comfortable, especially in the summer. Not all watches look good on a mesh though. Usually, I put a new watch on a shark mesh, only to get a bunch of negative reactions like "great watch, shitty bracelet", and after a few days I have to admit they are right.

I've currently mounted one on my SM300, and after the initial few days I think I'm leaning towards the shitty camp. It does make a 5k watch look rather cheap.

That has 19mm lugs does it not? Assuming that is a 20mm mesh as odd sizes are hard to find, how did you get it to fit, bend the end pieces?

Just bend 1 loop a bit and it'll fit

    Mesh bracelets

Look great on my 1972 seamaster . Not so good on later models. New speedmaster moonwatch arrives in the morning. Think mesh will look good on it.

Well quite expect the mesh club to light the wicker man for this.........but while the mesh is on duty with the SKX007 the Seamaster is having a rubbery time!
