    Look what I just found...

Down the back of one of my watch cabinets. I totally forgot about it.
Must have been here 20 years or more.
9ct case. Spanish day calendar wheels.

    Might pay for my holiday

Lovely watch and will certainly pay for a good holiday when serviced and tidied up a bit. I have seen these priced anywhere between £3k and £8k. Is it possible to track down English day and month wheels and bring it in line with Blighty speak?

It's running but maybe get a nice pair of moon hands for it and put it through the dishwasher... (Fuji Ultrasonic Watch Cleaner).

Battered but beautiful. Not the kind of thing most would find down the back of a draw!

Not many people mislay an Omega Cosmic Brendan.

    Nice find.
    Cheers,

Very nice find! Is it an Omega made case or one made in Spain?

Well done Brendon, I have a similar one, although not found down the back of some cabinet.

Brilliant, now you need to get it cleaned up and sent back to its owner.

Ghastly heap of toxic, environmentally damaging junk. Send it to me, and I'll make sure it's disposed of correctly. You won't even need to pay me to take it off your hands. :) That's a lovely little thing there, in all seriousness. I can't wait to see it cleaned up.

Don't think I phrased that correctly. Is the case made in Spain like Dennison did for Omega her is the UK? I have always been a fan of these but finding one with a good original dial is near impossible. Will you have yours refinished?

Nice watch. Have you tried finding an original dial for it?

The case is signed Omega inside the triangle. I will try my Swiss dial restorer for this one. He has the prints for the calendar wheels.

I presumed it was 9ct. It's actually gold plated:

Probably didn't pay a lot for it !

I bought when I had my shop and put it in this cabinet. I only found it because the drawer wouldn't shut properly.

My gut feeling is to just clean it and fit better hands. I can ask my pal at the Omega Museum in Bienne if he has the originals.

    Good call.

So presumably it was always your watch? How on earth can you miss it! Amazing it's not smashed to smithereens if it was behind a drawer! It's the watches destiny to be worn and adored!

Wouldn't be original, but I wonder if the hand from the modern triple date, or an oris pointer might fit. They're the same style, and could most likely be artificially aged to match the wear of the other hands.

Either way, it's one I've seen for sale a few times and always lusted for, such a pointless yet cool complication. As many triple dates as I have, they're just not the same as the vintage stuff, plated or not.

Don't need to worry about that, as I think yours is original!
Mine would be the one with the wrong hand ;)

Not useless ! The moon phase would be useful for fossil hunting tide times but I only have to look in the mirror these days to find one.
You have a point about the vintage ones. I always regret selling a Shierwater & Lloyd tripledate with a tide times moon phase dial for yachting.

Ha. Better not tell my partner that, she is always missing the tide for her mud larking, which works for me, there are enough shards of pottery in my flat already! Saying that, let me know if you ever want to sell, would make a great wedding present one day :)
