At the moment Er indoors is Fizzing at the Bung Hole over Tom Ford Ombre Leather which has to be smelt to be believed...

I've got the ombre leather I think it's one of the best leather scents good value relatively I love the raspberry note in it

It’s a very different scent but you’d definitely think it’s a much more expensive fragrance.

I almost forgot about this one.....

Zara have also introduced a Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille alternative.

Called Warm Black, it doesn’t have the silage or longevity as The TF monster however if you like the fragrance and would like something similar that won’t break the bank, I thoroughly recommend it.

Like most Zara (Vibrant leather notwithstanding) it won’t be a round forever and at £10.99 for 100ml it is an absolute bargain.

I got a recommendation here for the excellent extro cosmesi products
Now bought the Arzachena,17 stormo and Cipresso (nicest imo)
Very pleased with all of them, great value too
Executive shaving are the suppliers and really good service too

Just chose this after sampling it in Selfridges yesterday following on from your recommendation

Very holiday-ish and with my first Xmas on UK soil in 8 years looming due to Covid, I need something to get me through it!

    I can pretend at least......

I always take the rise out of the Depp Sauvage advert... it’s bloody awful

As a result the missus bought me some as a bit of fun to wind me up but it’s pretty decent scent tbf.

A friend lent me a load of decants to try, really liked Haeckels Pegwell bay but by far my favourite was Hudson’s 002. They are a barbershop in Ware Hertfordshire but the scents could come from the likes of Byredo or Diptyque had a tiny bit of Oud in it but not overpowering (not an oud fan)
They are good value and a lot cheaper than scents of similar quality, worth a punt on their testers.

Bleu de Chanel and Chanel Allure Homme Sport are my two favourites. Lacoste Blanc is a really good inexpensive one for knocking around in.

I’ve never smelt Acqua di Parma, is it a fresh kind of scent? Need to check it out.

I'm rather fond of Proraso shaving cream, they also have a range of inexpensive (around 15 quid) classic aftershaves and balms - Lime, Sandalwood, Wood & Spice, Cypress & Vetiver, etc.. Anybody tried one? Any good?

It’s a really nice long lasting fragrance. I have had it before but it’s too expensive to buy regularly

Not that i am 100% sure , but isn't the Cologne version not a spray bottle but an old school splash
Just a thought if you prefer spraying than splashing 😄

Finally got round to testing Acqua di Parma today when picking up an Xmas present for the missus from John Lewis. Have to say it’s not for me, quite old fashioned - reminds me of the stuff my mum used to get for my dad off the Avon! I felt the same about Floris 89 when I tried that. Will stick with my Bleu de Chanel and Allure Homme Sport. Good to try these things though.

Ordered a sample of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and the lovely vanilla smell with a hint of tobacco and spices makes it perhaps the perfect Christmas and winter fragrance. Very good performance, smells a lot and lasts the entire day. Almost worth the stupid price - I’ll buy a decant.

Huge Tom Ford fan here (oud wood, noir, grey vetiver, nerolino portofino) but I had sample of this and found it a bit binary. It was tobacco. And vanilla. With no other notes of, errr, note. One million by Paco Rabanne is a more wearable variation I would say having bothered the tobacco and vanilla notes but with some citrus and spicy notes in there. (Saying that, I can’t wear that any more as my trainer squirts a bit on before every session and I can’t I smell it being the training scent ).

I think TV is much heavier and blunter than some other TF. I like it, and PR Millions just reminds me of JDSPORTS, as everyone who works there seems to wear it!!!

I’ve got those you mention except Grey Vetiver, was gonna try a decant in the new year, what’s it like?

Yeah I’ve relegated one million to a bathroom spray now (doesn’t help the association either 😂😂)

I love the grey vetiver, I don’t know if you know the guerlain classic “vetiver” but GV is similar with a modern fresh Issey Miyake slant to it. It’s unusual and not overly common but amazing.

Members on Basenotes forum generally, Palmolive supplies most fragrances I like.

    https://www.basenotes.net/contributors/91-palmolive

    Tom Ford

    https://tomscreeddecants.bigcartel.com/

There’s a few trustworthy guys on EBay as well for small tester’s/10ml etc

A few Tom Ford’ are available in a 10ml travel spray for £30-40 as well.

My sons friend works at Selfridges and she looks after me but you can book a session with the Tom Ford Specialist (in Manchester or Trafford centre) where they go through all the frags and when I bought my Wife her Soleil Blanc they gave me a few little vials of fragrances. Was really great, they give you coffee beans to smell between fragrance ranges to clear your nose and explain about Silage, base notes, note pyramid, dry down, batches etc.....

I tend to buy decant of Creed because it’s just too expensive to justify, and Tom Ford stuff that I don’t want to blind-buy

I did spend nearly £200 on a special bottle for her but it was worth it.

Im developing quite the scent collection. I dont wear womens perfume as it all dries to eau de cat p*ss on me.

    Current favourites are

Creed - Aventus, Santal, Virgin Island Water (summer in a bottle)
    Tom Ford - Fxxking fabulous
    Acqua di Parma - Colognia
Penhaligons - Sartorial, Endymion concentre, Quercius
    Ralph Lauren - Safari.

Next ones on list are Creed Vetiver and Mayfair as I prefer their scents overall.

My favourites are L’Homme Ideal by Guerlain and At the Barber’s by Maison Margeila.

Apart from smelling great they have each have great details on the packaging - the knurled cap on the Guerlain feels like it’s been removed from a Bentley and the label of the Maison Margeila has a cloth like feel.

They are not too expensive either which is a bonus!

    Cheers

Creed Santal …. I’ve got a big bottle of it and I’m surprised it isn’t one of their more popular scents…. It’s like a masculine sherbet if that makes sense ???

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get TF or Creed samples? I've managed to get some Penhaligons samples from their website ("FOC" if you pay for the OTT postage!), but Creed and Aventus seems so expensive for samples!
