    Congrats!

I normally get carried away in Duty Free and buy too much alcohol or chocolate. I like your way better

Wowsers. I'd love to have 20k burning a hole.

    Very nice, Cliff. 40mm?

Maybe they should have carried you away before you went into duty free.

Last time I got carried away in duty free it was for a toblerone the size of a toddler.

Just kidding guys, it was pre-planned with help from the great staff at the Rolex boutique T5. Great way to start a holiday.

Thanks for the great response! Wasn't sure how 40mm YG Rolex would be received!

Generally I'm not a fan of yellow gold and almost never like roman numerals but 'hubba hubba' that is gorgeous.

Best dial colour too IMO. Yellow gold and silver dial is pefect.......but I still prefer the original 36mm.

I like the day-date, and I guess I could buy a second hand one if I scraped the bottom of the piggy bank, but I'd end up not wearing it often enough to justify ownership. Having said that, the more I look at them the more I like them, I've always been a fan of gold watches.

Beautiful watch there and agree the guys in T5 Rolex are super friendly and helpful. I've asked Otto to put a little something aside when we pass through in a couple of weeks!

Preferred the impulse story more, but nice one, and glad to see you're in the right part of the aircraft too.

    Stunner!!

Like many others on here I have never lusted over yellow gold watches but I must admit as I get older(and wiser!!) I do have a feeling that a yellow gold watch would sit well in the collection?!? Affording a day date stainless steel would be quite nice however a YG one is above me but I must admit if I could I would so I must congratulate you on a great choice!!!
To afford to join your club I'd have to sell my whole watch collection or one of my cars which won't be happening any time soon!!!

    Enjoy!!!

    Chris

for me getting carried away in duty free is buying a huge pack of M&Ms peanut ones.... and gobbling the whole lot before boarding

but have been tempted many times especially on the Amex card

But probably the only time anyone buys the stuff!

Lovely watch OP, I keep looking at white gold daydates. I think it's an age thing!
