Now, that's what it's all about, a bit of fun which brings a smile to your face.

Now if I owned that, the words 'Birmingham City' would be printed in smaller letters underneath.

At the risk of sounding all Alan Partridge, WH05 HYT is illegally spaced and I have no idea how one makes MILL SUB legally. Is it MI77 SUB?

M111 SUB works, even sans messing about with the last 2 '1's. Got to give the guy a pass on that. I actually remember seeing it on yellow 911 at the Birmingham watch fair in 2014.

Got my first ever pull by the B.i.B. two weeks ago for driving a car with "show plates" on the way back from a charity car gathering. Guilty as charged, have been driving the car with "pimped up" number plates for two years, so I will pay the fine (£60? no license points) and mend my criminal ways ;-)

You'll have to explain that one to me... Looks like it came off a 1986 ford orion (or something of that vintage) to me, but I can't figure out what t is trying to say.

Anyone noticed the trend (amongst young male drivers) for having no front plate? Normally it's on the dashboard. Round here in Nth Mcr it sems to be spreading. Particularly on Audis/BMWs but that could just be the type of car/driver

My stepdad had a Capri with DAN 49V. It wasn't private, just came with the car, but I imagine it would have been worth something to someone. His name was John.

This one would do ideally for me. We were so poor when I was born my parents couldn't afford a middle name.
My initials are the two letters on this plate. Big sigh...

B11 EDM isn’t on a car so may not have been released or perhaps was scrapped or on retention, can’t harm to email DVLA and request that it goes into auction.

I emailed DVLA for a registration that spelt my surname and was advised to keep checking the auctions and then buy it. At the time no indication was given when the registration would be up for auction. I just happened to check at the right time a year later and luckily no one else bidded and I got it.

I think there is some confusion across this thread about what constitutes a "A good plate ..."

A man who I know of locally, called William Ivan Ferris, bought his perfect number plate decades ago. I remember seeing it on several of his cars

This was long before the Internet and certainly long before Wifi. I assume he sold it as I haven't seen it about in ages.

I wonder how much he got for it.

In case the penny hasn't dropped, he had WIF1

I don’t think it is possible to have WIF1. It is not a real UK registration.

It was last MOTd in Harrogate in June so one would assume it's in England.

Thanks Alex, was just curious. I assumed he'd sold it as I hadn't seen it in ages.

A Bentley with "AS1" drove past me yesterday. Nothing unusual there. What was unusual though was the location. I was in the middle of nowhere in a remote part of the Scottish highlands.

Going by my own absolute hatred of long drives, I would imagine if it were Alan Sugar, that he would have flown to where he was going, and got someone else to drive his car up.

I've just seen a Range Rover in Stratford on Avon, driven by an older lady (which makes it all the more amusing) with the plate NO N1X

Think he has AMS 1 but might be wrong. Apprentice back in soon, so will see.

I saw JKR 1V yesterday which I thought would suit the author which reminded me of JVC 1V on a gold Rolls Royce outside the JVC UK office in Leeds back in the mid eighties.

I spotted 6Y on Astra (or what appeared to be an Astra). Unfortunately no pictures as I was driving (not that I know how to post photos anyway!).
