"spoil the lines" like the Cullinan it's an outside khazi on wheels.

Had to look that up, so disinterred in that monstrosity I didn't know it's name, maybe I should have said "made a bad design, worse with the sharks fin"?

When I was a poor student, 69 GYP was advertised in the back of E&M for months if not years. £600.

If I knew then... (and had £600 to spare)

That top one - a surreptitious placement of a yellow number plate screw cap would change it completely:-)

When I worked in the parts dept and made plates I had some strange requests for plates, people were upset when I refused since they could be traced back to the garage, some of the spacing/alterations made no sense, if you have to think about what they are supposed to say then they’re crap, personal opinion of course so no offence meant. Yes, my wife and I do both have unique plates on our cars, so it’s not a haters thought.

Aaaah thanks, when I was in Perth Australia (2001) I saw great plates, you could buy what you want for $99 which included the plate, while there I inquired about JB1 and it was $99.

I thought the cost was based upon the number of characters/numbers so the lower the count the more it would cost, can’t see how JB1 would cost a measily Aus$99?

Had a Google and found “It was sold in 2018 for £472,000 at an auction in Goodwood to unknown bidders - however most suspect they were representatives of Bentley cars”.

Not really, Bentley are owned by VAG and are a totally separate company from Rolls Royce, who are owned by BMW.

It was, I believe, family owned and “leased” to Rolls Royce but this was many years ago.

    Looks like they cashed in……
