Today I saw H16 ELS on a VW Transporter that was made to look a bit like NIGELS. Highly illegal but plod seems to turn a blind eye.

The Boxster thread just reminded me of the plate we had on one T80 XTR

That is typical of what is a rubbish plate. Unless his name was Higel and even then making a 6 into a G is poor form. Not even close to being a good plate.

    Fail.

    Indeed, my favourite was always

Save time when crossing a one-way street by only looking in the direction of oncoming traffic.
    – D. Rogers, Hemel Hempstead

    Then in the next issue

When crossing a one-way street always look in BOTH directions in case a large blue furniture removal lorry is reversing the wrong way up the road.

I like that. I inherited M66 BMR with mine but swapped it to my wife's plate as it is slightly more discreet.

Round our way there is an Audi RS4 with TH15 GOZ which catches my eye.

There's also a Ferrari 360 with H1 1 LAY that is more cringe worthy.

I was lucky (at least, I think so) to get this plate on my Boxster when I bought it.

I'm sure when I was a wee lad I used to see PEN 15 on a BMW 2002 parked on my friends road. Never paid much attention to it back then and by the time it made some sense the car was no longer there.

Indeed Tony, unfortunately it's not mine. It's a cottage we rent near to Rock in Cornwall. An absolute gem of a place in an idyllic setting, I never tire of the place. I took the van this year so that we could cycle the Camel Trail. Unless my numbers come up, I doubt it would ever be mine, it's probably worth more than double what my home is worth.

There are a few good ones around us in Cardiff: BRU5H is on one of Stokes (decorators) vans ... HOU5E belonged to Harold Greene (estate agent) and FLY21T belongs to local Travel Agent

I'll try and get a shot of a Range Rover I pass on the way to work lately. It's well put although I haven't clapped eyes on the owner/driver but I'm guessing she's had some sausage.

Presumably all the hundreds of plates like F485UCK and W4NKR were held back, never released?

Haha. I reckon they secretly belong to some of the F485UCK and W4NKR's on here actually but they wanna keep their heads below the parapet.

I must confess to number plate spotting - always have from childhood. Around where I live often see some "interesting ones" depending on your view. Some that spring to mind:-
    PR05 FLY
    CAP 741N
    BOX3R
    K155 SAH
    1 UK
    DEL 130Y

Used to have a client with JET 911 - of course on his 911
