Maybe not everyone is so hung up about others knowing that they have got a ‘brand spanking new’ car?

Slightly passive aggressive… I’ll have you know I’ve never bought a new car. Plus aren’t personalised plates an exercise in vanity?

Anyway it’s the absolute default to have the ‘22 plate, so hardly showing off. You have to go out of your way to take the ‘22 plate off. I don’t see the logic in making a conscious effort to switch to this (not to mention the the plate doesn’t comply with basic requirements). There’s plenty of good plates I could understand. Perhaps it means more to the owner than it looks to at face value, could be a company name or something.

    A good plate ...

Can a 2 be an R in the world of trick number plates and it’s supposed to say “CHRONOS”?

    Exactly- that’s why I titled it “Watch Lover”….. A 2 or 12 is used as an R …..

    Plate is OK …..

But just a gratuitous picture of a lovely example of the marque. Yes, they were a nightmare and not the finest of Jaguars but this was a beauty.

I know women that I would grade as nightmares but I also have mates who live with them - so what? it's their choice - same with cars - very subjective.

I never ciriticise a bloke's choice of car or women or watches - it demonstrates disrepect and can also be dangerous.

I always like the one in the (new) Saint BTW.

    Can’t see Watch Lover mentioned.

Edit: - See it now, not showing on phone/TapaTalk.

There was no criticism of the car whatsoever. In a previous life I had a few of these and even one modelled on the TWR version.

Probably said on here before but I’ve seen illegal plates that have been used for so long they’ve been on 3 or 4 different cars. Plod don’t seem bothered which is interesting given the reliance on readable plates for speed cameras and ANPR generally.

Saw X CL10 X (yes, on a Clio) yesterday. You could see it was obviously an illegal plate before you were close enough to read it.

You would think that is owned by VW but hopefully is privately owned and leased back to them like RR1 was I believe.

it'll depend on said plod's mood that day perhaps, I got pulled and was told to go home and change my plates(motorcycle font, didn't notice what had been made before I used the machine), he told me he'd seen me loads of times before but this stop was easy so he did it.

Saw that on a VW near Manchester 20 years ago. On a Passat then I think.

    It's a lucky number!

But seriously, for a 2 digit plate it doesn't need to mean a thing, it's objectively rare and worth silly money as a result.

Fair enough if a lucky number but otherwise says to me they can’t afford a lower number.

There's also the issue of availability.

1 F, 4 F and 5 F are in use but may well not have been for sale for years.

It's possible that 2, 3 and 6 have never been released, are on retention or were on cars that were scrapped at a time when no-one considered these things could have some value.

21 F is up for sale at the moment with an asking of £210,000, and 65 F for £45,000.

That guy comes across as a bit of a peasant with his random '7', he should save up and buy a real plate

With the car and plate I should say he is a bit strapped for cash, a sign of the times but hey ho something is better than nothing ?
