I remember seeing a magazine article around 2000 where “NOT 1” and “BUT 2” were on an escort and Sierra Cosworth which I really liked.

I had BD55 xxx on my Impreza, as the original plate, but it really looked like BOSS :(

I felt a bit of a pleb every time I was out, and actually put a private plate on it to avoid people thinking I was BOSSing it!

I bought a plate in the heat of a DVLA auction last year, destined for my incoming (soon I hope) Macan. Sort of hesitating now.

^^^ George Harrison had YOU 5 on his Porsche Turbo back in the 70's, it's still owned by the family although hasn't been on the road for many years. I've been in it a couple of times back in the day!

But why? Is there something about your specific plate that would make you concerned about that, or is that just a general feeling on all private plates?

    A good plate ...

    Maybe was born in 77?

Not sure about YOU though, just meaningless (in context) small word unless (unlikely) his initials.

    Car v plate value

It is always good to see a high value plate on an “ordinary” car….

So how much would this be worth??

I have no idea what value plates have now but am sure it must be worth more than the car it is on…..

I wouldn't worry about it. I saw M44 CAN in Prestwick, Ayrshire, today. Strangely enough, it was on a grey Macan. It's not on the database (yet).

Yeah think I'll just whack it on at first reg. It's my name, not car specific, which I think is less tool-ish.

A trade friend had R10 TOK ( set as RIOT OK) on an early R1
Looks like it is off the road now as on a SORN.
