    Ex football manger who lives not far from me has similar plates on all his cars, they all incorporate the same number and last three letters - 88 CUP

    In Chester;

    Spotted this a couple of times around Liverpool- "1SA". Terrible photo, apologies. I saw it a few months previously and was very excited to pull up beside it again, but the rain didn't allow for a good photo!;

    This one at home in NI;

    Does it mean anything - all I see is two random letters and a number.

    ^Is the Ferrari being charged up? If that was my car I would not be happy with a cable sitting on the paintwork.

    I know ‘Los’ is a Slavic surname, means ‘deer’ or suchlike; I’ve got a family connection to it.

    Any 3 character plate is going to be worth pretty big money.

    Why, is it going to melt the paintwork or something?

    I know the owner of R80LEX - he got it not for the watch connection, but for the film camera connection.
    But as far as I can see it is the closest you'll get to ROLEX in a number.
    It is curently languishing on an unused Toyota Van.
    I always wondered whter anyone here might be interested in it.

    Risk of paint scratches as it moves from dirt on cable and car.

    Saw a new Japanese SUV today, possibly a CX-5, driven by an old boy - the 'plate was JU55 TES. A retired judge, maybe?

    According to Mr Google, 1UJ is 16 years old, has done plenty of miles and used to be black.

    You're quite right - apologies to nTl, in my mind (at least tonight), 2005 isn't 16 years ago!!

    What’s the story with this type of plates? Where/why did they start appearing from?

    Not entirely sure, but always seem to be on either high perf cars owned by chavs, or normal RS3 type models or entry level cars with modifications & all seem to be running illegal tints & driven poorly, often with the driving seat slung way back, single hand resting at 12.

    Modified scene, a bit like the darkened plates, anything that makes your car ‘unique’ at minimal cost. Assume a ludicrous pop-bang map too!

    Agreed - ugly ugly things. Not sure why, but they annoy me greatly.
    The comments above about generally who has them is accurate. Very chavvy.

    I’ve seen these advertised as 4D! Thought the 4th dimension was time? Maybe ok on a certain film car.
