Showers are for sharing. The results are so much better.

Baths are casual, so Converses are fine.

Only by normal standards. By TZ-UK standards it's only a 3 on the weirdness scale.

I've always been a showerer but my other half loves to wallow in the bath, usually for over an hour while I'm dying to use the loo. Really must move to a house with a separate WC! (This should probably go in the random disclosures thread!)

Having said that, and how annoying that is, she has convinced me to love baths again. Absolutely must shower afterwards though. Baths are for relaxing in - not getting clean, in my humble opinion.

The baths never get used in our house. Wife, kids, myself - we all hate baths. I think I had a bath after a freezing cold bike ride about 5 years ago but that's probably it in the last decade. My morning alarm goes off at 5.38 and I am showered, teeth cleaned, dressed and out the door by 5.55 to drive to the station for the 6.10 train!

bath in upstairs bathroom sat empty for three years, before I ripped it out and made it into a shower room, no bath in the house now, and dont miss it, wet room downstairs and shower/toilet up stairs,

bath was on the left here, of the strange man with the roundal face

finished, took 5 weeks I think, pro would have had this done in a week, 10 days max.

Reading this makes me sooooooo glad I don't work. I'll continue to enjoy soaking in the bath after a strenuous walk or a trip to the gym in the middle of the day.

Never realised how over-rated work is until I stopped........also realised that money isn't everything around the same time. A brush with serious illness helped cement my views.

To get clean? Shower by preference, marinating in my own grime was never appealing.
If i want to relax then a nice spa / Jacuzzi / hot tub is lovely, but shower afterwards.

Nothing feels better than getting in the bath with your socks on, then taking them off after about 5 minutes....

    Try it!

(Don't ask me how I know - used to do it as a kid for some reason..)

Bath always. Only shower when staying in a hotel with no bath.

    Bath for me.

Why stand up when you can recline?

Shower is OK if you don't have much time (like most people here it seems) but I like to listen to a whole album (and sing along loudly) whilst I slowly go prune like.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Bath for preference. When I come home from a day or two working on the (Heritage) Railway. Bath when I'm in digs after working all day on the railway.

Other times a shower is OK but nothing really beats a soak in a hot bath for easing the aches out of the muscles.

I love a bath. The longest bath I ever had was about 6 hours after I had come back from 6 months in Belize and I felt I needed to clean off all that Central American grime.

Shower for me. As someone already posted, the thought of a bath is always better than reality and I've had enough after 5 minutes.

No votes for sauna yet, so I'll give one. That's proper ablution in my book. When the sauna and change of underwear coincide on the same week, that's hygiene at its finest.

Well, I work from home a lot but by choice I like to start early and finish early when I need to go to the office. I'm an early riser and helps me avoid the worst of the crowds and enjoy a civilised commute to London. I rather like it.

Surely there's a new thread for watch talk:

What watch and shoes do you wear in the bath?

Never shower but I will always have my annual bath on Jan 1st (whether I need it or not)

I like to start the year feeling clean and fresh!

Looks like I'm in the minority. Bath all the way. Long soak with a glass of wine and favourite album playing. Shower only if I'm in a rush.

You never have a shower and have one bath a year?

I thought I could smell something funny...

Farting in the shower doesn't come close to farting in the bath.

Shower twice a day but a bath when my back is really bad. Long hot soak with a couple of beers and a decent book.

I only ever have a bath when I am in a hotel. But even then I finish off with a shower, which I admit is a bit weird

After 17 years in the house we just had the bath taken out and now it's shower only, been great except this week end I've been building a shed and decking and so wish I could soak in a shower.

Erm which hair are we talking about and how long is it that you need to wash it separately?

I tend to shower every morning because it doesn't wake the kids like traipsing to the family bathroom would.
I do like to shave in a nice hot bath, though... long soak, DE or straight shave, and then a shower (over the bath) afterwards.

Baths at boarding school were cold, shared and more than often muddy.

    Showered ever since.

They were only cold if you bathed alone.

2 showers a day. Last bath years ago.

Baths are nice for soaking away achy back or leg muscles (the rest of me sticks out and gets cold) especially after a long cycle
surely gets you clean enough by the look of the scummy water as you drain it away - must have come from somewhere...!

as for time-saving-washing you can't beat a good scrub in the shower... wish I had time for more baths but it seems to have gone from a monthly to a yearly event

For getting clean a shower is a must for me, 'james bond' hot gradually reducing to cold to feel totally fresh and clean preferably. It's also long enough to soak my shaving brush for those times I want to have a proper wet shave rather than a quick buzz over with the electric gizmo.
If i want to soak and enjoy a nice tipple then it's the hot tub only. Marinating in your own filth for hours on end is just not my kind of thing.
    Just don't wear a watch...

Showers all the way for me... a nice cool one on a hot summers day and steamy warm in winter... Baths are too much of a hassle to get filled up and prefer the instant gratification of a shower.

So marinating in one days worth of your own filth in a bath is not your thing, but a hot tub, where you stew in a heady mix of multiple peoples filth deposited over multiple soaks is fine?

Remember showers after rugby, which turned into roman style baths with the application of paper towels to the plugholes!

Shower every morning now but baths at night few times a month just to soak away the aches and pains and chill out.

Changing the water every 2 weeks and careful chemical treatment of the water between puts paid to that. Also, bubbles.
