    Pls show your Datejust 36mm

Some Fridays ago (maybe within the last 6 weeks) I saw a stunning Datejust on the Friday thread. As I remeber it, it had a black dial, and I think it was a 36mm and most likely a 6-digit one at that.

I wanted to ask the gent that posted it a few questions about it, but thought I'd do it later on, and forgot about it.

I just looked through the last many Friday threads and can't find it at all. I am thinking that maybe the gentleman that posted it, was also sabotaged by Photobucket's latest thrill, as was I.

I'd love to see some examples of the 36mm DJ, also with the hope of seing the stunning example for the Friday thread again, so if you have one to show please do :-)

    Thanks,
    Henrik

I am not quite sure but it seems that the newer 36mm Datejusts look slightly larger - maybe due to case design....

this one is currently en-route to Watchfinder for their appraisal... so may as well post an image while it's still technically mine.

A four digit ref DateJust is never far from my wrist. Here's a black 1601 and a blue 1600. Far prettier than anything black and blue that Rolex have done recently...

It will never be as nice as your glacier dial day-date henrik, but here is my 16200 with modded black and gold dial - it is my homage to my first Rolex, a 6694, but with a bit of every-day practicality.

    Pls show your Datejust 36mm

I think this is a very ordinary TT DateJust from the mid-late eighties, but incredibly special to me. No doubt not that interesting but I am learning to appreciate it. I think the open 6's and 9's are beautiful, a work of art when looked at closely.

Sorry to slightly hijack but... is it me, or is the fluted bezel more deep/ jagged nowadays? Or is it simply a sign of wear on the older ones?

Thanks for the kind words, but they're also very different watches, despite a relatively similar appearance. I've unexpectedly come to appreciate the 36mm size much beyond what I ever thought possible, and it's great to see some of the lovely examples in this thread.

Your DJ is a stunning watch and a great representation of the classic 36mm size.

16220 - from the 2000s. Sapphire and quickset date (obvs).

And a much older 1603, long since gone unfortunately.

My 1601 needs a crystal really but can't seem to keep it off my wrist long enough to get it sent off for repair!

Wife kept borrowing it so I bought her this 16014 with aftermarket diamond dial!

The aftermarket dial is a fancy pearl that she absolutely loves!!!
