    Which TV supplier?

We are moving house next month and I'm looking for a new TV / Broadband / phone line package.

Currently, we've got Virgin, (hate the Tivo), Amazon prime, (never use it), and Netflix, (this does get used).

I'm after advice on what to get please. In terms of channels, the kids watch Nick Jr, Disney and Cartoon Network. I hardly ever watch TV but when I do its Animal Planet.
The wife would like Sky Atlantic.

We download a film from Virgin Movies once a month or so.

We use Netflix a fair bit.

I'm guessing a Smart TV can run Netflix and Amazon through a phone line?

Telephone and broadband wise, as long as it works, I don't really care what we have.

    Over to you...

Smart TV ( Samsung has a great interface ) with Netflix / Prime and a separate Now TV box £25 from Argos, with the movies and kids and Entertainment package. These 3 passes are pay monthly about £20 per month ish ( auto renew with direct debit ) All done over wifi.
What do you mean moving house? Haven't you just finished a big extension / kitchen thing?

    Phew!
As for Broadband suppliers, Virgin cable would be great for big speeds, the phone line dependant BB is just a matter of picking one based on service , the speeds will all be similar, I'm with Plusnet, the customer service dept is pretty good, it's in the UK .
    Cheers..

    Rumbelows.

You can get a 17 inch JVC with acoustic remote for £22.99/mo over 17 years on HP.

No, but the boxes are cheap and you can as far as I know use the same account to log in to it as far as I know. ( that's not definitive though) I know you can have multiple devices for Netflix but not tried NowTV. ( It's basically Sky without the dish )
    Cheers..

Do they plug into a phone line then? That's what I've got running to most of the rooms.

Just checked, you can have one account running on 4 boxes, I think they have a Ethernet port in, but I just connect with wifi, connect to the tv with hdmi then follow the connection via wifi in settings, enter your wifi code and it's on.
    Cheers..

It's between this and Sky. I hate Virgin with a passion.

It's good because you don't have a contract as such, just the separate passes that you can start and stop at any time, Sky sports pass is expensive but you can get day passes for the big game or individual events. You can also view on iPads via a app.

Sounds good mate. The deal breaker might be the lack of Disney Channel. Frankly, I'd happily subject all involved in that channel to electric shock therapy but the kids like it.

For interface alone Sky wins hand down. Plus it'll be a Q box now which if you get multiroom for about £11 extra a month you can apparently have as many boxes as you want for that flat fee. They also act as WiFi repeaters for your router.

A smart TV should have a now TV app, mine does and it's not that new

Definitely dont go virgin (I know you said you already hate them). Non stop problems with the phone line in my area.

Sky broadband was awful for me though too, sky tv and two laptops connected was getting 2mb download speed. Unless you go fibre optic of course

Buy a youview box - great service and can add addons later. No running costs at all.
