Thread: Omega Daisy

    Omega Daisy

This one has kind of slipped under the radar with all the hoopla about the other models.
Is actually quite stunning in person and may prefer it to the Daytona.
    Saw it at Omega boutique

    That looks good 👌

That is a stunner and I would seriosuly consider that over the Daytona especially if it is 42mm

It's a trade off isn't it, the third Sub dial for a date window, but the colour combination is nice. I am a Speedy fan, but I don't think it pips the Daytona, a close call though. The minute markers are a bit fussy for my liking.

    Have you bought it?

Did you find out the RRP? Omega still didn't have them up on their website a few days ago, or the new Aqua Terras or Railmasters.

I am after a white dialled watch and the SS white dial with orange second hand looks the part. I may even ditch the bracelet in favour or a rubber strap. I like the hold one but at a guess it is going to be around £4K extra considering the extra cost for the 300 which had very little gold on it.

Would be interested in a side by side with the older 'light side of the moon' - that certainly looked the part in real life.

It is better IMO because of the ceramic bezel insert
    GE bed itbabdifferent vibe

How well does this type of chrono subdial work in practice? Is it easy enough to read with the two hands?

I like the look, but as Ken says, the minutes markers aren't the easiest to read off. Aren't they like the ones on the old Explorer II, which has oft been criticised for being hard to read.

I really like that, much more than a daytona. The dial looks so much more legible and uncluttered to me.

The hour & minute hands are too skinny.

And it's a 60 minute subdial. I've a watch with one of those and despite the little hand being as helpful as possible you can't read what the chrono is saying with any confidence. That'll teach me to actually use a chrono and not just enjoy the pretty little dials glimmering away.

My favourite thing about these subdials and this chrono movement is you can use it as a second time zone. It's literally a second clock face right there on the dial.

If you don't use the chrono as an actual timing device it effectively makes the watch a GMT.

Tried to find more info about this on omega's website to no avail. Any reason why they're so quiet about this?

The best I can come up with is this article: The Omega Speedmaster Racing Co-Axial Master Chronometer, that gives the prices as:

    model # CHF
329.33.44.51.04.001 7,800 white dial on leather strap
329.30.44.51.04.001 7,900 white dial on steel bracelet
329.33.44.51.01.001 7,800 black dial on leather strap
329.30.44.51.01.001 7,900 black dial on steel bracelet
329.32.44.51.06.001 7,800 gray dial on brown leather strap
329.30.44.51.06.001 7,900 gray dial on steel bracelet
329.32.44.51.01.001 7,900 black dial with orange hands on leather strap
329.30.44.51.01.002 7,900 black dial with orange hands on steel bracelet
329.23.44.51.06.001 10,300 gray dial with two-tone steel and 18k Sedna gold on leather strap
329.53.44.51.03.001 22,750 blue dial with full 18k Sedna gold case

I can only find the two in bold on Omega's website: link.

I wonder what the thickness is? Does it have the 9300 movement?

I say good riddance to the third subdial. I think reading the elapsed time from the one subdial is a lot easier; that's the way we have learned to read the time in the first place.

Make an enquiry for your 329.30.44.51.04.001?

Or else a 329.32.44.51.01.001 or maybe the 329.53.44.51.03.001?

Thanks! Ah. It's the 9900 - same as my PO master chronometer

    http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...raph-9900-2017

Probably give this speedy a miss then as it's too similar in size and function.

That's a nice looking watch. I might even go so far to say it might even look nicer than the ST?

That's because the Speedy Tuesday is just a brushed Speedy with a panda dial and a leather strap and lots of hype.

Hasn't been publicly active on facebook since august 2016, so no help there. Unless the Guv or someone else of his fb chums has better info.

I’ve been worried for a little while now, I’ve emailed him a few times , pmd him here and on FB, it was his birthday recently and no replies to any birthday wishes which is unusual , I’ve been in touch with a mutual New York friend to ask around too, no sign of him yet.

Did he have a family ? Hard to believe that if something bad has happened that nobody has his email/social accounts.
