I shall be out dancing in it when it comes.
Few biggish size rain drops in Chester....
Might need a thunder buddy later.
I shall be out dancing in it when it comes.
I do hope so as the lawns are starting to suffer. Just for a few hours and then another week of lovely hot weather (and repeat).
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

We got one heavy shower for about ten minutes.
Plenty of showers just missed, and not a single flash or bang.
No flash or bang but do feel it needs it, still very warm, muggy, clamy - whatever you want to call it
Following the shower here, the outside temperature is a rather civilised 17C.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Did you survive? Spare a thought for Edinburgh and environs: map.
But even there it's no moved out to sea.
Since 6am today it's been lashing down, thundering and only 14 degrees here in Northumberland. BBC has been rattling on all day about the "hottest day the country has had since...." but it's not been the case everywhere. I even had a text stating that read out on BBC 5live breakfast this morning - my three seconds of fame
This morning they were forecasting thunderstorms for today. There are a few building on the South coast, but it looks like a humdinger has been going on west of Paris and is heading north:
Edit They're still forecast for tonight, tomorrow and into Monday morning: MetOff Warnings

Here in the Netherlands the South was flooded last week. Further north it is still dry as a bone. For the forth week in a row. Daily temps between 23 and 30C. I always think that this sort of weather will jinx the summer holiday in 8 weeks or so...

I watched the storm last night as it passed to the northeast. Lots of sheet lightning and not very noisy. It seems that I wasn't alone in this, but I didn't get to see any of the 'Spectacular' lightning strikes.
Thanks for the blitzortung website link, very interesting site. I think the lightning was quite high here last night (Dorset) above quite thick cloud, but still very impressive.
The storm that I watched started over the Channel and moved up over Kent and London. It looks as though it is still active and currently passing Birmingham and Shrewsbury.
A few short sharp showers here on the south coast and a nice light show late last night that went of for hours. Bit more lightning and thunder early this morning
No rain or storms whatsoever where I am in Cambridgeshire, storms forecast for all day today but it’s been bright sun & steaming hot !
That agrees with the Met Office forecast (link). The 'chance of precipitation' is very low (max 10% tomorrow), but you're still on a yellow warning:
...so if it does rain where you are, you're likely to get quite a storm (ie unlikely but high impact).
Huge storms here in Padstow last night

Thundering and lightning, very very frightening..... in Essex last night. Lashing down too. Had to have the dog upstairs on the bed with us until she calmed down.
Currently stuck on the A5 near Lutterworth at a stand still. Puddles like lakes have flooded some cars

I didn't think that it would get this bad...flash flooding across Birmingham.
See also Flood warnings for England.
Floodgates are open now! *Must not panic! 60 HP 4.4 meter RIB next to the house... We're safe.
The first of the showers has gone now. According to the meteo radar this is only the beginning for this evening. The T-storm came from the east. Trees and shrubs are 'not used' toa storm from the east! Tons of leafs and branches in the park adjacent to my house. There are twigs with oak leafs on them in my garden. The closest oak tree to the east is nearly 100m away. Amazing!

Red out out here in the Baltic 28c in Copenhagen today no rain forecast for the rest of the trip St Petersburg and the rest
Outside temp has dropped (according to my dashboard's temp) from 33 to 19.5 degrees in 20 mins!
It was apocalyptic for about 20 mins. Luckily, the house is 4 ft above street level; my home is built on a small hill and the lowest part of the garden is 1.5 ft higher than the surrounding grounds. On top of that, the soil is sandy. Rain is absorbed within minutes. And we have no rocks in the ground

EDIT: I took the bike to the gym this morning. The park is hammered! Branches, trees, rooftop from a house: all's scattered all over the ground. Council emplyees are busy with chainsaws and a truck to get it all out of the way. I think it will take a few days before all's clear.

Only a tiny few now, but just above my head when I’m getting out of the train and have to start cycling for half an hour. Wow what a monster size hailstones!
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
And you're on a yellow warning for thunderstorms today (link). Hopefully nothing major, if anything at all.
It was scorching hot in the Lake District (great time to go camping!) and no sign of rain around Manchester....we could do with some in Stalybridge to put the moor fires out!!
Apparently that was a first for the Met Office...BBC link.
I'm starting to get interested in the UK forecasts, especially the ones for Plymouth area. (2.5 weeks from now)
Mrs V is working in Wiltshire at the moment and told me that it was raining there a couple of hours ago.
Still hot and dry in London at the moment. Theres a bit of cloud but nothing dark and foreboding.
I love a good storm with proper thunder and lightening. Hope that we get one soon.
I don't think that these will offer anything you are not already aware of, but here goes:
Sweltering in Tetbury. Great weekend in the Cotswolds, despite about 30 raindrops, in , you guessed it ?
Er indoors's MX 5 and I am having to do the driving. Good little car tho, making a bit of a change from the 911T I used the other day...
Some rain about today with weather warnings for thunderstorms in the SE.
Not much happening yet https://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=...d=2;dl=2;dc=0;
Rain expected in my area this evening but the met office keeps changing its mind. Can not remember the last time my garden saw rain.
I hope so, we haven't had a drop since mid May!
very low chance of rain in london apparently. Just a 60% chance of a shower. http://meteoradar.co.uk/
Hope not.
