I rather fancy one of those Kizzi Apollo 8 white velcro straps. Probably a good thing there are none in stock being as they are £75!

Aren't they the super long space suit ones? Can they be adapted to wear without a spacesuit, as you might want to wear the strap without the spacesuit?!

    No, its a short version!

You only need a long version if you have bought one of these

I am on the brink of buying one and getting a waterproof strap for it, will use the watch on holidays, in the shower etc (I tend not to take my watch off during the week).
The comments on this forum regarding the water resistance have made me hesitate, should I be at all concerned?
Be aware that it is not advisable to take a shower wearing any watch. Soap and warm water seem to degrade the seals faster and hence you might be risking water ingress much faster

Never really understood why anyone would, seems far easier to take it off and pop it back on again afterwards. Swimming, yes, but in the shower, no.

As long as you're not diving with your Seadweller, it doesn't say diver's on the dial!

Why do people have to voice their anxieties on the internet?

Never washing your watch means that grease, fine grit and oily contaminants will attack it and the bracelet links over time. It is also unhygienic to not wash the dead skin and gunk away.

A watch does not need to be rated to 300M before you can get it wet. :)

No concerns here. Feel free to wash your watch with warm water and using harsh detergent. Good luck to you.
Watches of course can be rinsed with cold water....

    I should hope not - it's horrendous!

Myself and another member here were lucky enough to visit the Blythswood Hotel Glasgow last night, the evening was to show the new Basel releases and to bring along some Speedmasters from the Omega museum, the pics are below.

Really pleased with it. I ordered it on the 24th of June after reading here that Carl had reopened for orders. Also ordered a standard NATO with a patch in the hope of picking up a watch I've been looking to find for a while.

Ordered same day, still not heard anything about mine. I relented and emailed Carl last night since it's been 5 weeks but not had a reply yet.

I ordered an SPV1.5 (tan) and two SPV2's with different labels and buckles.

    Starting with SPV1.5:

This is the chunkier or the three with more wrist presence - the effect of a lighter colour, thicker strap material and a more obvious label.

This SPV2 is fitted with the Omega hop up buckle and NASA qualified for space label

..and this SPV2 is fitted with a plain black buckle and NASA strap serial number.

The SPV2's feel better to me due to the thinner material I think. They feel identical, very comfy and the watch head sits centrally on the wrist without any fiddling about. The black buckle one is low profile and takes more of a back seat to the watch where as the hop up buckle version is obviously more noticeable.

Whilst I was waiting for these and during a brief window of opportunity when the GGB ordering system was open I ordered a plain black SPV3 - I guess that this will arrive mid to end August.

Its a nice colour Raj but I don't care too much for the thickness / bulk.

I may order an SPV2 in tan though

Unwanted GGB and also Krizzi velcro

Gents, I am happy to pass on these two straps I ordered recently. Both are unworn and I just put them on a Speedy once to look/try and decided they're not for me. I will be posting on SC shortly if anyone is interested. Thanks, Tom

    The TZUK Speedmaster Thread

So, I've been looking out for one of these for some time now. Finally tracked one down in super mint condition. I will post some pics of unboxing etc. in the 'Incoming' thread, but for the Speedy aficionados that follow this thread here's the first pic taken after I unpacked it this morning. Happy!

Thanks - it's a 2014 issued limited edition for the 45th anniversary of Apollo 11. There were 1969 pieces made and they have titanium head and crown/pushers, a laser etched dial and Sedna gold hands and bezel with a matt ceramic insert. They came on a leather lined PVD faced strap with a titanium buckle. Plus a sodding huge box with Apollo 11 commemorative pamphlet.

Posted this on the Incoming, but thought worth posting here too.
Three weeks ago I was reading through TZ and noticed that Carl at GGB was open for orders for a limited time. Decided to order a couple of straps, one for my Speedmaster with a "Giant Step" patch and another basic strap with an X-33 patch as I've long fancied the X-33. Both straps duly arrived on Thursday and coincidentally whilst scrolling through SC on Thursday night, a Gen1 X-33 appeared for sale! A couple of PM's with Mark the seller and on Friday morning we concluded the sale. He's a top bloke because this afternoon the watch arrived and I love it! Here it is on it's new GGB strap.

Carl replied to say he's working on my straps today and so hopefully I'll get my sweaty little hands on them this week! He said he's been swamped.
