    BLNR 2 weeks on.

Thought that i would share my initial impressions. Unboxed and sized my birthday gift to self, new BLNR, 2 weeks ago.
Seemed a little small to me initially, probably with being used to wearing my DSSD or EXP2 42, and was also very conscious of scratching the PCLs. So, took a little time to get used to, but after a couple of weeks I now thoroughly adore it. I feel that it is very versatile, could be worn in any situation, from Speedos to a suit.
Still a little conscious of scratching tho. When wearing I would never have removed the DSSD or EXP2, accounting for their battle scarred looks, but find myself removing the BLNR for mundane tasks. I hope I relax into it a little. But it always makes me smile when I look at it, especially in sunlight. It is a beautiful thing.
As Keats said, a joy forever.

Love a BLNR. Looks great on the last photo, shows off the contrasting colours very well.

I'm a fan of the BLNR, I think the new rolex case with the bigger ligs works the best on this model.
Enjoy the honeymoon and before you know it, you'll be scratching it up an laughing about it. That's how things tend to go after a while :)

Does the ExpII bracelet fit? I think this watch with a brushed bracelet would be the perfect modern Rolex.

Despite all the new models, the BLNR remains a commercial champion. They seem to be available reasonably quickly if you make a big effort or are very lucky, but my very recent experience is that they still command a thousand pound premium if new and unworn. Incredible - but it is a cracking-looking watch and Rolex have promoted it widely.

I was not a fan of this model but the more I see it the more I like.
I was careful of my new watch for about a fortnight now not so much,
Congratulations on a very nice purchase.

No as the are different lug widths however the SubC bracelet fits straight on to give you a fully brushed bracelet and glidelock to boot. Only downside is the ~£1500 cost of it.

Or my approach was to spend ~£100 on a bergeon 7825 and 30 seconds later swap the bracelet from my Sub C.

I love this watch but would prefer it with brushed centre links rather than PCLs like previously said. Nice buy, looks great in the pics.

I bought this and the hulk a few years back and sold them both.

I should have kept them I think and this has grown more on me. I'm thinking of buying another one for my son. It's a great watch.

Really didn't know this. I have the GMT on order and already have the ceramic LV so very good news indeed.

Must remember though you need to use the springs bars for the relevant case they came from so you swap the bracelet but need to continue to use the springs bars out of the GMT bracelet.

Loved loved mine but just couldn't relax with it. Forever pulling my arm in as I walked through doorways. And the whacky thing is the more desirable it became the less I wanted it(?)

Congratulations! Totally agree about the versatility, almost suitable for any occasion whereas I find the hulk to be better suited for casual use.

It's a beauty but those polished links do scratch easily .

Oh my word, tell me about it. I am very careful with my watches, bordering on OCD careful, but even wearing one under a soft cotton shirt poses a danger to the PCLs. I've worn my a half a dozen times and already I'm noticing tiny, shirt scratches! I'm waiting for the day Rolex figure out how to make their bracelets scratch proof.

    I JUST GOT THE CALL!

My name went down in early February and was the first local AD I put my name down at. Waiting for another call as to whether it'll be today or Friday I get to pick it up. So this makes it approx. 3 months from name down to receiving.

You pics look ace OP. Can't wait to get hold of mine.

Not bad all in all. I'm considering the black version myself and more than likely new so hopefully an even shorter wait?!

The polish centre links frustrate me, I love how (within reason) you can use a submariner every day and it still looks like new whereas the BLNR almost ages due to the PCL. Maybe it's a quirk that'll grow on me. Still a beautiful watch so no regrets in getting one however.

Yep I should think so - I have seen the black GMT in windows at AD's twice in the same month so I would imagine it'll be a short wait, or you'll just get lucky.

Agreed. The black GMT was in stock at every AD (4) I visited in the last 4 weeks.

I picked mine up last Tuesday after waiting about 6 weeks. I've had another call this week saying one was available (annoyingly local as well).

Love it though. Agree re: the PCL comments - I've been wearing a sub for a few years intermittently with my PAM. I worry about the PCL's again (I previously had the black GMTc) whereas I never did with the brushed. Now sort of wishing I'd kept the sub and used the strap.

A lovely looking watch though and one that looks and feels lovely when on.

Looking good, I've had mine for over a year and am glad to be able to tell you I still admire the way it looks in different light conditions.

Regarding the PCLs you can get them brushed if it bothers you. Eventually though, you'll learn to live with the scratches.

    Sometimes life is like buses.

Having had the call for the BLNR yesterday to pick up (Which I did - yay!), I got another call today from another AD also letting me know that they had one for me. Two in two days! Meaning also that the wait list does appear to be a pretty persistent 3 months judging by these circumstances.

They left me a voicemail at 11:43 and by the time I called them back at 13:20 (albeit to tell them to take me off the list), it had already been sold to someone else. It appears that if you're on the BLNR list, make sure your phone is taped to your face at all times, or you would miss out.

Stunner! Didn't think it could look so good on a Jubilee.

Out of interest, how much would a new stand alone Jubilee bracelet cost these days?
