The utter lack of historical context of the new SD suggests that Rolex is willing to cater to... that end of the market. You might, sadly, get your wish.

Snap! But then I saw the black TT!

That is beautiful too. But still can't quite bring myself to yellow gold in a watch yet.

I thought the same make a great everyday watch I ordered one, the chap in dealer said was a pleasant surprise the sky dweller in steel at Basel think this is going to sell well!! Also stated the deepsea there not any of them or the sea dweller 4000 for a while so both look like their getting ditched even the deep blue.

Prestons said I am on the list for sea dweller put there retaining the warranty card for 2 years WTF

A quick question. Doesn't the definition of annual calendar mean it ought to show the day? I can get by without knowing the date and the month a lot of the time, but it is nice to know what day it is

I might put my name down for a steel black faced one though.

It's no panerai, but what's a low brow manufacture like Rolex going to do against the combined might of richemont. That's sarcasm by the way.

Really really like these. The white gold is now up to 32k on bracelet from memory. This is much better. Rolex have made a lot of people happy, but no doubt annoyed dealers with pm stock and those that bought the pm models, I wouldn't be happy at all.

Keep looking at these, more I look more I like. Working towards a decision, my tt GMT needs a service so going to drop that in and have a chat, get it ready for maybe selling it as it would be a sizeable deposit, just can't afford both, bugger.

It may sound ludicrous, but these sound absurdly cheap and vfm.

I agree Simon, especially when you compare it to the precious metal models. Their owners might well be spitting feathers today!

I thought that about the white gold SKD but in fairness white gold has always been to some people more about it being under the radar than flashy blingy.

But give me bling anytime LOL.

I like the SS Skydweller I may get one of them instead.

I suspect that's why you can now buy a SS model.

Per the forums, the issue isn't just SS it's SS with essentially the same dials (arguably better looking stick dials in SS). It would be like Rolex releasing a slimmer lug blue sub in SS. People would be mad.

To me, these are close to perfection.

But why oh why did someone invent the hideous cyclops.

And because of that, it's a no from me. Very sadly.

This video unfortunately confirms exactly what I expected with the blue dial Sky Dweller. Reading the time will be difficult due to the crystal reflections. The hour hand only has a small amount of lume and it's quite a busy dial as well. It's not to say I didn't get excited about this watch, I really am and do want one, but the contrast on blue dials with Rolex often goes a little awry. I wish they had AR coatings.

Tried on an old skydweller yesterday and i thought it was large on my skinny wrists, but perhaps it's the look of the thinner fluted bezel.

Put my name down for a blue dialled stainless steel model as I've been on the hunt for a perpetual/annual calendar.

Would love to get one, only thing holding me back is the gmt complication that we really don't need generally in europe except if your traveling regullary overseas which isnt my case.
If they would implement the annual calendar on the blue dial datejust that would be a no brainer and would feel stupid ordering the Sky if that happens to come out next year

Simple solution don't bother using the GMT function I never used it on my GMT s they won't put a annual calendar in a datejust would not make sense when they have the sky dweller

I have limited use for the GMT function so will set it as the 24 hour time

Rather hope the new offerings cause the market in the PM models to bottom out. Quite like the YG on bracelet. Bling yes...but then one fun watch can't hurt

So, if the Skydweller is now available in stainless steel, can the Day Date be far behind? Not a fan of the Skydweller looks, but it does seem nicer in SS. A Day Date in steel would look just great.

Funny, I've never considered the service cost when buying a watch, or any other item I've ever bought that I liked.

I don't buy the whole 5 year service. I reckon 10 years or if you start to have issues with it

I don't either, Kerry did mention they were harsh though. It is to be expected due to the complications.

Wow thats a lot of money for a service - I wonder how many people would enquired about that before buying? Hands up I've bought 6 or 7 Rolexes over the years and never asked once!

I assume this price applies to the PM versions and in 5 years they'll adjust this.

Is the service cost the same for the PM and steel Subs?
