Tim does cracking stuff, really like them. I was all set to buy an original when i realised i misread inches for cm. The piece was a tad more than i expected!!
Great picture I haven't anything as exotic but I'd love some wall art of my childhood hero's cars.... well either of them but the net result is the same ... a Williams (miss proper racers like Nigel and Damon)
I have had a specially commissioned scalextric car made of red 5 it's almost finished, it'll be added to the Indy car and '55' touring car I have .. does scalextric count as art? I don't think so but it's cool right?

I used to know a bloke called Jim Marland, who in the 80s started producing the Jaguar D type series.
His company/workshop was next door to my parents house, and he called it Jaguar Proteus.
He used to get the engines from the 1960s mk2 Jaguars, that the police used to run too.
I have many memories of him teaching me mechanics, and going on test drives.
This picture brought all those memories back!.

As an aside, Proteus are still going (or have been reborn): http://www.proteuscars.co.uk
However, what you're looking at is a DBR1. Tim was commissioned to paint this picture to celebrate Aston Martin's history at Le Mans.
This is a good article about Tim and his stuff:

I must get me a Layzell, always admired his stuff.
I have this by John Ketchell, also a great artist
Is it an original, Andy?
I have a print from a few years back and did discuss buying an original but never got round to it.

Looks like he mainly does the C Type now,in the beginning it was always the D Type.
He moved south from Bolton around 89-90,so i havent seen him for some years now.
Sorry i didnt even realise it was an Aston,it immediately took me back to the 80s.
It must have been the BRG blinding me. lol
