Thanks John. Whether Eddie's sorted it or just divine intervention, it looks like I'm back to where I was with the exception of still just having a 50 message limit.

I don't think you're being irrational at all. I'd have thought that these password storage companies are a massive trophy target for hackers! The ultimate catch! I did some reading at the time on the matter and certainly from what I read here from Lastpass - it convinced me that every measure has been taken.

LastPass says they never receive my Master Password. Don’t I send it to the LastPass servers when I log in?

No, when you login to LastPass, two things are generated from your Master Password using our code discussed previously before anything is sent to the server: the password hash and the decryption key. This is all done locally.

    • The password hash is sent to our servers to verify you. Once verified, we send back your encrypted Vault. We are only sent your hash, not your Master Password.
    • The decryption key, which NEVER leaves your computer, is then used to decrypt your Vault once it comes back.
My simplified understanding is... even if Lastpass were hacked, the hackers would need to steal my laptop to get the keys to decrypt my vault. Add in that I have 2 factor authentication using Google Authenticator, its as good as it gets.

Disclaimer: I'm not a security expert.. so am happy to be educated/corrected!!!

It's still happening for me. Do I need to do anything?

Edit; I haven't been on for a couple of days. First press on G & D just diverted me. Has anything like passwords, PM's been hacked? Got a lot of info on there.

Have you cleared your computers cache as mentioned in one of the above posts?

    That's what worked for me.

    In addition to Velorum's note:

    Site problem.

Advice is to change passwords / email.

When you do so, it seems like your privileges might change temporarily. Open the new link to the site that you're emailed and your privileges will be restored. Mine were although I was locked out of SC for a bit.

I also ran my cleaner, my antimalware and my antivirus on my device as a precaution.

It was driving me mad about two hours ago, seems to have calmed down a bit now. The problem with i-phones and i-pads is that the security is done by Apple. I have had pop up pages advising not to close the page and to follow the links - but that smells like a scam to me.

Not happening for me. Last time it did, but I have now installed Add Block Plus, and it seems to work a treat. It works on other sites I regularly visit which are plagued by adds and take ages to load because of them.

    Hope it may help

What was the URL of the mobile version that avoids this spamming?

Still happening for me this morning with the William Hill and Audible links, along with messages that say my iPad is 28% infected with a virus!!!

Works fine using the mobile version though.

    +1.

It's now telling me my iPhone is 28.1% infected by 4 viruses.

Switching away from TZ forum for a bit might be safest option I reckon.

I have had no issues this time around, I haven't installed any add blocker or anything.
Maybe I haven't visited the issue page ? If there is even such a thing?

Just an observation but it seems a lot of people having the issue this time are using Apple devices.
Last time I had the problem (Chrome/Win10/PC) but AdBlock stopped it. This time around I didn't have AdBlock switched on and didn't get any issues. I have now switched AdBlock back on but that's precautionary.

Anyway - it's just a thought but maybe it's restricted to either Apple devices or the Safari browser? Anyone had the problem this time round using Windows with Chrome or IE?

It’s been happening again for me - MacBook Air, Safari. If I click any link at all I get taken to something that advises me to update my flash - and then downloads a file!

As far as I am concerned as this is only happening on this site it is clearly something that needs to be resolved from the forum management side, even if it is only affecting Apple devices.

I always use adblock but disable it for a few sites but had to put it back on until Eddie sorts this out.

  42. #342
I'm using a Chromebook and it redirected me to sites trying to get me to download an Chrome Extension. I had to shut down and then reopen the browser with AdBlock enabled. It doesn't happen on my Kindle Fire using Silk.

Redirects still happening on TZ-UK on MacBook Air using Chrome.

Last time I was able to put a couple of filters in AdBlock Plus to stop the redirects. Does anyone know which filter(s) we could use in ABP for this recent hack?

Using Firefox on a PC and whilst Adblock is installed, it's currently disabled and nothing showing here. Just checked Adblock "Show blockable items" and there's nothing untoward coming up.

I use NoScript and it shows the scripts. Those two stand out like a sore thumb. Sorry it's in Finnish but you'll get the picture.
