Ref 16234 bought new in 1998 for £1.8k thereabouts. First service last year at a cost of £600!

Here is my 16200, which is still pretty much my favouite watch - although I must take a better picture.

Here are a selection of other TZ-UK members watches, which cover most of the iterations of dial / bezel / bracelet. It is certainly Rolex's most varied model series:

Sent it to the RSC in Malaysia.

Rang up RSC St James few weeks back to inquire about servicing my ref 16030, was quoted £540 (no reduction if I opt out of a polish, uncanny)

^^^ That's lovely, is it a "linen" dial?

Here's my 16014 (looks very similar to the OP's):

Probably the only watch I have owned that suited the numerals.

Definitely. The 5-digit Romans are some of my favorite DJs (although I'd definitely love a Red Date with 50s arrowhead markers... anyone got a picture of one those?).

My first thoughts were that I didn't have a DJ any more.

    Then I remembered I do :)

The Black/Silver dial version of that dial is one of my favorite modern Rolex watches. Nice choice.

That combination of Roman Numerals and Batons really catches the eye,

The red date wheel is a nice touch too:

I always think about buying one and never do. I'm not sure why.

I looked at the black silver, the contrast was a little much for me, besides already have a black dialled watch and wanted something different for the collection.

The date wheel is a roulette date, black evens and red odd numbers, mine has it too. Can't be too many around as I've only ever seen one of each variety over the years, and I think they are out of production now, as I couldn't find it on their website, but I might be wrong

These dials and the various TOG versions are the only modern DJs that appeal to me. I think fluted bezel plus oyster band is the best combination - kudos. What serial is yours? I haven't seen one of these newer than an M.

F, but it's a random serial, with engraved rolex rehaut from march 2016

This 16030 with it's drilled lugs and T Swiss dial has just returned from a Rolex service where it also had a new plexiglass fitted. The watch will be 30 years old on Friday and looks as good as new.

It's a 2009. 116233 so still a current model and just a thing of beauty. Had a service in 2014 and the gold glistens.
