Quite fancy one of these. . .

Breitling Avenger Hurricane 12H in Cobra Yellow with the new light weight material and B01 movement

But then I saw the diameter - 50mm - I'd have to wear it outside my jacket sleeve to get it to fit.

    The design is nice though

I thought this over sized trend was coming to an end!? I'd have to wear that half way up my arm

What is classed as oversized these days, above 44mm ?

I guess it's relative but I have a couple at 45.5mm which is the limit befor 'overhang' on my wrist.

I'd suggest a watch is oversized when the lugs overhang the wrist width, which is a function of personal measure and also watch design. Some smaller diameter watches have longer lugs making them overhang more than their wider diameter cousins.

Don't mind a decent size watch at all. Would be more concerned personally over the height. Is it Pvd? Would soon have that scratched unfortunately 😾

Some kind of carbon case IIRC?

Nope, just the usual steel with some sort of BBQ paint PVD coating.

Personally, I find that this 40 mm Navitimer is the best application Breitling has come up with for their in-house chronograph movement:

There's still room to spare on the caseback, too. The only way the 50 mm version makes sense is if it has some sort of internal compartment to stash contraband.

    Nope, it's a composite (Breitlight).

Havent read up on it in detail but the Breitling blurb on it:

The Avenger Hurricane takes off in a new version in which the ultra-light, ultra-sturdy case in Breitlight® – a world-first – is teamed with a yellow or black dial and high-performance Manufacture Breitling Caliber 01. A chronograph built for extremes.

Aw, crap. Regrets; I looked up the wrong version. I didn't know they're now doing fancy plastics, too; that should make a 50 mm brick a bit more practical, much like a G-Shock. ;)

But to be honest, I don't pay much attention to modern Breitling.

Just short of 7 grand for a plastic watch? Think I'll pass on this one thanks

    It looks plastic.

In my opinion oversized is anything over 45,5mm, so my PO chrono just makes the grade. :D
