    Watch for all occasions

Lucky enough to have a fair few watches. Everyday and holiday watch ( most worn ) sinn U1. This is one tough watch. Great lume, big and east to read. Next Speedmaster
On black Omega deployment. Can wear this on any occasion. If I had to choose only 2 I would be most upset ! These 2 would be high on my list.
    Regards Paul.

Are there lots on here with beautifully “worn in” Explorers? Maybe some more pictures would persuade me.
I can't see a single one of these marks when I look to check the time. If I look closely and angle it to catch the light then I can see the knocks to the edge of the bezel, but they're minuscule to the naked eye. It's very easy to live with, especially weighed against the pleasure of wearing a watch I love all the time.

On the plus side, it's a very easy to bezel to polish at service time, unlike some other models.

I have been developing a bit of a soft spot for the Explorer in recent years. Must be my age!

It’s a great all rounder and at 39mm was almost a perfect size for me

However it was just too similar to my Railmaster so I sold it which I kind of regret now looking at these pics again

It's not an 'all-rounder' in the way a dive watch can be.

Its a blingy field watch, and in terms of field watches I'd prefer a Damasko. If you went more the sports watch angle I'd go a GS ahead of the Explorer - more refined, better looking, for less money.

I have to say, my 15200 was my one-watch solution but has been replaced 95% of the time with the IWC 3521. Even though its gold hands on white dial, its extremely legible, more so than the Rolex, even though the IWC is a a bit more 'sporty' or less formal than the Rolex.

What a great thread! I am looking for an exit watch when I retire in a couple of years, and guess what I have in mind. You got it, an Explorer!

That's a fine watch and not to overstated.

It's the only Rolex I lust after. The collective 'one day' list is short, but this is near the top.

Life doesn't suddenly grind to a halt when you retire. You may well have another 20-30 years to enjoy. So why all the 'exit' stuff? Plenty of watches to explore and wear.
