Where did you get the strap from in the top pic, I might buy one for my brothers speedie as he has a birthday approaching.

They look good with almost any strap, but a brown leather is the best imo

There are certain watches that just work, and that is one of them! Congratulations.

I do give Imega a hard to for playing around with so many different models, but at least they still make a Speedmaster that looks a little like the originals, albeit the 1861 movements instead of the beautiful 321 or even 861.
It's just a matter of time...

I don't really 'do' chronographs but the Speedmaster Pro is something else. Looks great on the first strap, stunning.

A great collection of straps to complement one of the most beautiful watches ever made. (I don't have one, unfortunately)

Loving the first strap, mind sharing where you got it from?

The great thing about the speedie is you can dress it up for virtually any occasion possible.

Great photos and I really like the first strap, I would be interested to know where you purchased it from!

I'm hoping a Speedy will be my next purchase!

  17. #17
Very tempted by one of these at the moment! Did you buy from chronext?

Just what I was thinking. Something very classy about that look. Kind of watch that would get an appreciative nod from all over the WIS fraternity.

Some very nice straps on display. You have done the Speedy justice.

  23. #23
That looks stunning. Tempted to put mine on a vintage leather strap.

1861 is the same as 861 though, just Rhodium plated I thought?

Agree on the 321 to 861 transition though; column to cam and the beat rate change means the outer track markers are in the wrong place doesn't it?

Yep, the 321 works at 2.5Hz, the 861/1861 at 3 Hz so the former times to 1/5th sec precision and the latter a slightly finer 1/6th sec which means the 0.2s track increments are slightly out for the latter and have been so since 1968.

I have just noticed that the Tin Tin, Speedy Tuesday have fixed this glitch and have 0.33s increments which brings it all into line again, maybe the other LEs feature this too. On the 4Hz 3313 Speedmaster BAs they use 0.25s notches which are correct so it is just the Moonwatch which is off I guess.

Lovely, you can't go wrong with the classic Speedy Pro. I've owned a Speedy Soyuz, and plan to buy a Speedy Tuesday, but the no classic yet. Enjoy!

I really like the look of that strap on the first photo.
It sounds very cliché, but speedies really do work with so many different styles of straps. A great watch, I still wear mine a lot after many years

I normally don't do leather straps on sports watches, but those look really good

IMO, the Speedy looks way better on a strap than bracelet.

Yeah, the Speedy works much better on straps than on the bracelet which is IMO fugly as hell.. I dont understand why Omega doesnt do a re-release of some of the vintage bracelets. They look much better.

Agreed, I think most Chrono's look better on a strap.

Also the speedy bracelet end-links are too long (for me).

Wear yours in good health. Here is mine, I love it, although I don't really wear it much any more:

Congratulations, it looks great. The Speedy Pro was my first really expensive (i.e. 4 figures) watch and I've never regretted getting it. It's such a versatile watch too, able to go with lots of different strap styles and colours. Enjoy!

Just commented on another thread but agree with all - they just work on anything. I do like the bracelet though - why the dislike? Still more of a lurker than poster so unsure why the dislike. I have the 3570.50 and like the bracelet but admit to only having 6 watches so still a newbie - have sold a few though;)

I always wear mine on the bracelet - it does look great on some of these straps though.
