Try it on a hirsch robby . Match made in heaven.
Thanks for the advise, will check that Hirsch.

It is not an original NM elastic band, just a nato that I got which is mimicking the look. In fact it was intended for Sinn 103 but I like it more on the EZM3F.

Nice shots of the Arktis there.

Any more EZM3F owners care to share some pics? Or even 104 St Sa I W (white) if anyone has one?

I really wish I'd purchased an Arktis when they were more common and not as expensive.

My well worn vintage 140 with reverse panda dial….

Does the Sinn deployment clasp have a divers extension when used with the Sinn rubber strap?

    Are they expensive?

They seem to be rarely sold (understandably - Wearing mine again today and it's probably the one watch I could foresake all the others for if I had to), but I didn't think they'd really shot up in price when I'd seen them for sale.

Not on the grand scale of things I suppose but I'm thinking of the good ole days when you could pick one up for £800. There's one for sale at the moment for $1,800 which seems a bit steep.

I've been looking at that one. By the time you've added import duty etc...

Like the look of the u1 looks a nice watch? What makes people like these so much? I can't seem to see many for sale in the uk? Are deals available and what are the residuals like?

Yeah, not cheap. When the exchange rate was better I'd have maybe considered it.

The exchange rate has caned alot of potential purchases.
I was in contact with the seller of the arktis. I asked him for his best price and he took ten dollars off the asking! He's also got an ezm1 but condition isn't great and it will need a service.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

The u 1 is great. Like the arktis and the ezm1 I think it's one of those you really need to see in the flesh to appreciate it.

Not suggesting you are, but if I ever get a message asking for my "Best Price" I mentally file under time waster, although I will respond, but I usually find the next 5 questions are utterly irrelevant and end with "Yeah, I've seen a G-Shock/Rolex DSSD on eBay now!"

$10 reduction seems fair enough if he really wants the asking price!

I don't mind if he thinks I'm a time waster. If the price was attractive to me, I'd buy it. His price is reasonable but by the time I get caned on import duty, it's not worth it to me. Ten bucks is neither here or there. It works out to half a percent reduction. I don't see how that is going to tempt anyone over the edge, unless they wanted to pay full price anyway. He could either stick to his price or give a decent reduction. In my case, if he gave a decent reduction, I'd be interested.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Fair enough, but your assumption seems to be that he's priced high to give a discount.

Perhaps he feels that the listed price is fair and that someone will buy at that price.

I don't usually price things high (here, on ebay or anywhere) when I offer them for sale, so "What's your best price?" is always pretty redundant.

Make me a sensible offer around the price I have it for sale for and I might accept, but MY price is the one it's on offer for!

I tend to assume the same in return - You want what you've offered it for, or very near.

I don't assume he's priced it high. I said I think it's a reasonable price. It just becomes expensive for me when import duty etc is added

It can't be that well priced, because it's been on sale for ages and it's quite a rare and desirable watch in my view.

The fact that the seller is HK based, has poor comms (although this could simply be a language issue) and can't really provide many solid references is also an issue for me.

But then, having said all that, maybe I'm just a time waster :)

It can't be that competitively priced, because it's been on sale for ages.

    Maybe

I can see lots of negatives as you say.

Perhaps you should just make him an offer that seems fair to you, if you're interested.

At least he can say no or maybe counter offer with something you'd still find attractive.

ETA, I'm not trying to pick a fight, just saying that "Your Best Price" is a phrase that always rings alarm bells for me. An offer far below what I'll accept at least makes it clear where the other party's expectations are.

Sometimes I just cough full whack, sometimes I ask for a best price. It depends what any item is worth to me.
If I'm selling, I never get offended by people asking for my best price. If the asking price is my best price, I simply tell them that.
    Best wishes
    Dave

Its not just that, it's also the current exchange rate. Buying from abroad is nowhere near as tempting as it once was. The US dollar is 75p and the euro is 90p at the moment. What seems reasonable in dollars doesn't seem quite as reasonable in pounds these days. I guess that's partly due to the Brexit effect.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Never had mine serviced though it's not going to be 6 months, 6 weeks maybe but not months. A battery should last approx 7 years.

This is my Sinn U2 which I have worn for over ten years straight...
    IMG_7532 by

In May 2015 I bought my Apple Watch that now lives on my right wrist

People ask why I wear a watch (Sinn U2) on my left wrist and a Apple Watch on my right

Recently my Sinn U2 starting acting up so I'm sending it back to Germany.... in the meantime I bought a Seiko SRPA81J1.... its nice but its not a Sinn.... IMG_7537

I now have another Sinn in-bound ..... one that has been a "Grail".... the U1000

    Hirsch Ayrton strap

After being inspired by this thread I've just bought a Hirsch Ayrton strap for my U1 SDR. Been wearing it on a selection of Maratc Zulus for the last year and the Ayrton really smartens it up. Thanks for all the photos :-D
