OK so I've been looking for and had WTBs up for ages looking for a Sinn EZM2.

I did own one yonks ago and foolishly flipped it (bugger!).

So, just to make me feel better, would some kind TZers post up some pics of their EZM2s they're hiding away just so we know there are a few out there.

And as a matter of interest, does anyone know how many were produced and over what period? Must be north of 2,000 units, so I'm wondering why they don't come up for sale too often.

I'd second that. Good to see you yesterday in Bristol. Your collection of Sinn make mine look very modest. If only I'd got into the brand 10 years ago.

My bad. Can't comment on comparative looks but he certainly does have a wonderful collection.

    Here you go my EZM2

Superb watches and being oil filled makes them much more interesting than your regular quartz diver..

Since joining the forum I've always admired this model of Sinn when its posted on the Friday thread. However I think the EZM3 is the only real option. The M1 prices are stellar and I don't think I've seen an M2 for sale anywhere. There was an M3 on SC just last week but I think that's gone now. I know the M3 has a more cluttered dial but that's something I'd have to live with, so it's probably going to be a new purchase. The choice between the EZM3 and EZM3 F would be a difficult one though.

First Class watches have 10% off a first order and with some cashback it will get the price down to a more wallet appealing amount.

Just an update, I got Jura to match the 10% offer so I have just ordered an EZM3 (not the EZM3F). Delivery in 10 days. Looking forward to it.

EZM3 is a lovely little thing. I am sure you will love it.

Some of the Sinns were lacking a bracelet. Decided to put that right. Very pleasant experience buying from Sinn directly.
Nothing brings out the toolish nature of Sinn watches like putting them on a bracelet.

Mine had a serial number just over 4000, and Sinn are fairly accurate with their numbers, so I guess there are at least that many out there.

Thats the 1st 105 UTC I have seen posted here.

Id appreciate your views on it as Ive been seriously looking at these for a while. The only thing that has stopped me going for it is the length of the hour hand which maybe looks a little short?

I am very fond of the 105. The hour hand is fine, atleast for me.

Thanks, it was clear that the M1 was out of my budget (and comfort zone) and the M2s just don't seem to come up for sale so the M3 was the logical choice. It'll be a few weeks yet before it arrives.

Budget aside. Why would an EZM1 be out of your comfort zone?

Lovely 103 Classic LE on their website this morning to mark their 60th anniversary. Pricey though at 2,850. I wonder if they will now start rolling out ceramic bezels on other models...

Theyve got that one spot on. Its pushing the price a bit, but I seem to think that about everything nowadays.

I sincerely hope so, aside from wantonly vintage models, aluminium bezels belong in the horological history books IMO, but most especially in a company specialising in supposedly tough tool watches. It's the sole reason I don't own an 757/857.

Sorry, that was poor wording. I meant the cost (so budget related rather than ergonomics). What are they now, around 6K?

    Understood.
Not sure on price, I think that depends on the version. If they are now 6k Im glad I got mine when I did.

Anyway. The EZM3 is a superb watch, look forward to hearing your thoughts when yours lands. I really wish I hadnt sold mine and my EZM13 as well. The hobby is an illness for sure.

Even with the addition of a ceramic bezel, that is too much for a simple 7753 chrono, in a case they've been using for decades.
Sinn are truly attempting to break free of their roots as good, honest, no-nonsense tool watches that offered useful tech innovation at relatively good value.
They seem to have fallen foul of the mantra that issueing an LE allows you to increase the price to an otherwise impractical level.

Guinand has released something very similar which is better value for money.
It also doesnt have the strip of steel around the glass ensuring better integration with the bezel.
Out of the two, and having owned the previous 103 classic I would go for the guinand

^^^ does Sinn manufacture Guinand now?

WRT the EZM 1, when they come up for sale, this seems to be the going rate (whether they achieve that is another matter). Its very rare to see an EZM 2 for sale at all.

I prefer the 1.1- SS, slightly bigger and modern movement though no nostalgic appeal of 5100.

    Sinn 103 limited:

    Pros:
    • Panda
    • Good size
    • Ceramic
    • Regular non-white lume on the hands

    Cons:
    • 1,7cm thick
    • The text under 'Sinn' -- WHY???
    • Ceramic

It is interesting why they chose to go this way though. We are at a point where 17mm automatic chronograph is pushing it. In my opinion, the 103 case doesn't handle that height all that well, but this is heavily dependent on the caseback design. It'd been a nice throwback to the vintage Sinn to have just Sinn on the dial.

I agree 100%, but at the moment it seems to me that the final Siduna fire sale of the 3440's is the Bargain du Jour of capable chronos - just over a grand for one of them is really very good value indeed

I presumed that as its shipped from Sweden, it would be subject to VAT on hitting the UK. However, if theyre discounting Swedish VAT or including UK VAT for customs, then that really is a steal!

Been trying to get an EZM2 Hydro for ages. Don't see too many of these for sale nowadays but managed to snap this one up from chrono24 on Monday and it arrived this morning all the way from Austria.

Would've been even better had it been the GSG9 version but no doubt it would cost significantly more.

It came on a Nato strap but I really want the steel bracelet so if anyone has one to sell please drop me a pm.

That does look good, in a minimalistic way which I like. Has it had a recent service/oil change or was that factored into the price?

Serviced in 2019, so all good for a few years. No box or papers but came in the Sinn service case.

Interesting that the hand ends on that EZM2 are more steeply faceted, less round looking. Service hands?

New arrival - 105 St Sa UTC W

Not sure if this is a general upgrade to the 20mm bracelet but its a nudge up in quality on the ones on my 556 and 856. More like the 857 with the allen key rather than screws and so easier to adjust too.

    I do like Sinns.

How do people like the 857?

Fancy trying one as a tough one watch solution

I like mine a lot. Doesnt seem to wear too big as lug to lug and height are not excessive. Tegimented case hasnt picked up any scratches so far.

I have the UTC. Slim, quite large at 43mm, but wears well, tegimented case and copper sulphate capsule. Works well on leather, rubber and nato. Happy to send some photos by email.

    https://www.sinn.de/en/DUOFLEX.htm

Sinn have just released a new strap case interface option along with a new clasp
Apparently the duo flex adaptors give the wearer a better more comfortable strap.
I can’t see it making much of a difference myself
It’s only available on the larger U watches and the rubber straps on these are the best I have owned. I have never needed more flexibility in them. I also wonder about the rub marks the adaptors will leave on the lugs as they articulate.

Looks to be a solution to a problem nobody knew they had (like a lot of the tech they use).

The clasp on the other hand is well overdue. it looks to be a neat solution to micro adjust, a bit like Rolex but not as refined. (Instructions say remove the strap before using the quick adjust - ???)
