    Hello chaps,

I'm looking for a 36mm explorer 1 in stainless steel , has anyone seen this model in any shop windows recently? I'm guessing this isn't as popular as some of the other stainless steel sports models and might be a little easier to get hold of?

Alternatively, I might look to pick up a pre owned one privately if I can find one under RRP...

    Cheers,

    Dan.

    Just under £6k - 2021

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226040621302

Looks like people still think there’s a premium to be had on newer ones.

That watches of whitby one seems to be very well priced for a dealer or is this normal pricing for a dealer for this model? I've not bought a rolex or really looked at pricing for the last few years.

Has anyone dealt with this particular dealer before?

    Cheers,

    Dan.

No experience of them but I’m sure they have a positive reputation here.

Looks like it’s a Feb 2022 and the one I linked is Oct 2021 so not much in the ages.

A guy called Alex who is a member here runs watches of Whitby. There will be feedback in the Heroes and Villains subforum for him and his business.

I bought a 16610 and 14060M from him. Very happy with the service and the watches I bought although both are long gone

I was going to, there's a small ding to the case when you zoom in on the none crown side... not sure if it will kick off my OCD

Are you sure? Alex's condition report puts the case at 'perfect'.

You must have better eyes than me, I can’t see anything.
I bought a watch from Watches of Whitby last month. It was a great experience and I feel pretty lucky having them 40 minutes up the road from me.

Agreed, it's the 5th images on the bottom of the case.

Worth a phone call to confirm if it is actually a tiny ding or just a spec of dirt. Although personally if paying new money I'd want a new watch anyway, as I don't think this one will be too tough to get from an AD?

This is the photo for those curious.

Just a bit of an explanation as to why the "condition report" and the photos did not match!

When we take photos of stock we add them into a folder, in this case " 124270-Explorer 36" folder We accidently used the photos from a recent 124270 folder we sold which did have a small ding to the case side and a few other little marks to the bezel.

I contacted Dan this morning to explain the error and updated with the correct photos of the watch from the correct folder which matches the report. Please see here- https://watchesofwhitby.com/product/...22-box-papers/

Apologies for the confusion and I have put something in place so that we don't mix photos up in the future :)

Did you go for it OP?
In answer to your original question, I think you could still wait quite a while through an AD. You should be able to pick up a really clean example for around RRP. I put out a WTB last year for one, and ended up with a pristine example from the forum. It has become my favourite and most worn watch.
