    APOCALYPTICA - watch for the apocalypse?

    I just received details on this DIY kit (including movement, dial etc and THAT case) in my inbox. A lot of inspiration from Omega's Seamaster in the dial and hands, but I've never seen a crown arrangement quite like it! Nor a 27.5mm lug width and there's no strap included. I'd understand this more if it were the 1st April and not 1st May.

    Fortunately, they only seem to be making 5...

    Full details for the intrigued can be found here: https://watchparts24.de/APOCALYPTICA...que-black-dial

    If it's meant for the apocalypse then I can only assume you use a paracord bracelet as a strap, then if it comes to needing to fight off fellow survivors for those last measly scraps of food, you can take it off and use that hunk of a case to beat them to death.

    What you really need in an apocalypse is a proprietary screw head like on the front of that monstrosity, to realign that wonky bottom one.

    At the product-development meeting:

    "I know! Let's do a Scarface-worth of gak and design a watch!"

    Chorus: "YAAAY! Good Idea!"

    {Sound of £50s being rolled, chopping-out, and loud sniff-snuffling noises}

    "It needs to look like a plan view of a sit-down toilet!"

    Chorus: "YAAAY! Good Idea!"

    "...and cost well over a grand!"

    Chorus: "YAAAY! Good Idea!"

    "...and it'll need a strap that no-one sells, but we won't supply one!"

    Chorus: "YAAAY! Good Idea!"

    "...but we'll just rip off the rest of the design from an overworked, instantly-recognisable watchmaking icon that'll look hopelessly out-of-place!"

    {Forehead veins audibly bulging, human Henry-the-Hoovers are going at-it like a blue whale eating krill}

    Chorus: "F*** YEAH!"

    - lights fade / history made -

    END

    Is it the new Bremont ‘Abrams Tank’ model?
    Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

    Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it.
