Just an 856 at the moment. I'd like to add a 142.

    657 and EZM1

Currently both at Sinn, one for a service, the other for a warranty repair.

Absolutely fabulous watches, I think I will always have a Sinn my collection although it may not always be this one. Despite being arguably one of the best quartz watches there is I am starting to think it is just a bit on the large side for me.

Why not? This is my 556a. My first good watch from 2015. I love it, it's a stark tool watch. The leather is lovely. Definitely a keeper.

This Sinn 103 from the 1980's with a hand wind 7760 movement not many with this hand set up and date set up. Look at the Swiss made on the dial. And nice aged patina in the lume.

Very much like the Arktis that was posted earlier, I have been kicking myself for not getting one while they were still readily available.

I have a 356 Fleiger II and a U1-w, here are a few old pictures of them.

Has anyone here got a Sinn 140 or 142 ? The 140A in particular is a great looking chrono. Was wondering what Sinn fans thought of these watches ?

    Hi andy

Sorry, I scrolled through your post on my tiny phone screen earlier. Thanks for flagging it up. You have some super, sweet watches for sure !

What got me looking at Sinn was this watch:

    http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/new/wa...ieces/sin-228/

One of the best looking watches I have seen. It seems a lot though for the movement onboard.

Never owned an EZM-4, but I prefer the 140 and 142 to the 156, 157 or EZM-1. The 142 is the quintessential Sinn chronograph. It's big, looks great and it has a Lemania 5100 movement. What's not to like?

I've since sold the watch, but here's my old EZM3 with the only part of a Tornado GR4 that never breaks - the Sinn stopwatch:

Here are my two - for entry level they are excellent - really want a blue 903 at some point.

    Question

How do the owners of the oil filled Sinn's find the accuracy?

I find the look of them pretty amazing with the oil bringing the hands to the surface.

I was watching a HD close up video on YouTube on my TV and every time the second hand went against gravity it bounced back. The person making the video mentioned the 'Sinn bounce' but studying that vid on a 40" TV the second hand only 'bounced' when going up from the 6 to 12 markers, then as soon as it was on th way down it ticked like a normal quartz.

I am currently debating the purchase of a Sinn but I'm thinking a 104. It's not a brand I've considered before. I'm thinking of spending more than I usually do on a watch and a Pelagos was favourite but after seeing what people say about the quality of them I'm intrigued.

Also, how are the service times these days? I found an old post on wus saying 6 months (if you're lucky) to service a hydro model.

    Do they hold their value?

The accuracy of my UX was phenomenal, right up until it lost a few hours one day and is currently on it's way back to Sinn :) I guess sometimes you get unlucky - still a brilliant watch and I can't wait to have it back. The look is unique, very hard to describe how the hands look until you see it in the flesh - from some very odd angles.

Mine has the bounce too, they all do - gravity will play a vey small part, it should look different going 'up' and 'down'. People tend to think the oil is like Millers 10-60 or something, in reality it's (apparently) not that much thicker than water.

My old UX was, I think, within 3 sec a year. Yup, I did mean to type year! Not unheard of though for that movement.

Bounce? Yup, they all do that.

Never had mine serviced though it's not going to be 6 months, 6 weeks maybe but not months. A battery should last approx 7 years.

856 UTC on a brown shell horween strap (with unseen brushed Sinn deployment).

I keep wanting to try a 556 or 656 but I really like the 856. The tiny splash of yellow is nice. Also looks good on a black and yellow striped NATO.

I am constantly considering to add a Sinn to my collection but at the end I reason with myself that I don't need another watch.

    I love this thread!

I've owned many, many brands but never a Sinn despite lusting after lots of models for ages. This is my personal favourite and at £895 from a UK AD, could it be better value?
