If I'm not too late and there is still room, I would love to come along to this GTG. Cheers.
I have been given the OK to borrow the timing machine and the demagnetiser for the afternoon
Downside is I need to take them back at around 4:30 so if anybody wants to use them you will need to pop along before then.
True story: I worked how much time and money it would take me to come to this. From London.
If you drink enough you save a fortune on accommodation costs
Im up for this GTG.
Not long to go, just under 2 weeks before the party starts.
Just in case anyone has missed the thread, and fancies stopping by :)
Not long now
What sort of time are people planning on arriving at?
Curious as to how these GTGs go down? Anyone take photos? is it just drinking? etc
Looking forward to this.
I'll be taking 2-3 watches but also be up for a few beers too!
I'll probably head to the venue about 2 - 230 ish with a few other forum members.
I'm heading from the west, I am hoping to leave Glasgow about 13.00hrs so hopefully at the venue for 2 ish.
I shall come along once I've had enough coffee to be civil ;) (2/3ish)
Gutted that I can't make it. Pesky christening to attend. My wife has suggested it is not an option to miss it.
Waste of time so would rather be drinking in Edinburgh !
What is the etiquette around name badges, supplied, or do I provide my own?
Badges? We don't need no stinkin badges!
(With thanks to Mel brooks)
Mike Lowrey: [to store clerk, who is pointing a gun at Mike] I'm gonna reach for my badge, ok?
Store Clerk: Badges? Do you want badges motherbitch? I give you badges! 99 cents each. [throws some badges at Mike] I sell you some.
(Badboys )
Thank the scriptwriter of the treasure of the sierra madre for the badges line.... Predates Brooks by a few decades.

It's actually from the 1927 novel, The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre by B. Traven & was altered for the movie for censorship reasons.

Incidentally B. Traven's story is fascinating & it's well-worth Googling him & looking on Youtube for the Will Wyatt/Robert Robinson documentary about him.

Jim.
I'm gutted I can't be back in Edinburgh, especially for a GTG. Have fun all!
Wow, time goes quickly! Apologies ladies & gents, but I'm unable to make it tomorrow unfortunately. I'm sure you'll all be horrified to hear that, but I have other commitments.
Have fun!
Have a great meet up chaps and looking forward to some pics.
Our manager is now out of a job so he may pop along, you must know him he is Scottish
Pitch
Sorry I am not going to be able to make it today, have to go down to check on my mum. Hope you all have a good day and hope to be able to make the next one.
Have a great day everyone.
Gutted to be missing this but apparently on rechecking yesterday a christening is apparently more important than watches and beer.
Should be arriving 5.30.... don't all leave.....

Will be there around 7ish. Looking forward to catching up with you all again...
Heading home now, thanks for looking after a poor West Coaster, great meeting you all, always good to "handle the goods"
Lovely vintage stuff which is my bag and some very nice modern Rolex and Patek.
Photos tomorrow.
Sleeeep
If anyone took any group photos (of the people, not the watches), post a few and let the rest of us know who is who - be nice to put some faces to the regular names.
There weren't any people photos. Just watches which were far better looking.
Ill post tomorrow. Great to handle some absolute belters :)
Was a good night. So many nice watches and especially vintage Rolex. Don't thick I've seen that many vintage GMT Masters, 1680's and 5513's in one room!
There is this thread, maybe you could kickstart it again.

Looking forward to hearing about the GTG and seeing the watch photos.
