    Doxa Sub 300 Beta

I stumbled across this the other night.

    https://uk.doxawatches.com/collectio...44068041326833

I've always admired Doxa's bright dials.
But the blue dial (Caribbean) Doxa Sub 300 Beta looks fantastic.

I'm not normally a fan of rubber straps, in this case though I prefer it to the stainless steel version.

While it does look similar to the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, I think the Doxa looks better.

There is a stockist in York. Might have a daytrip soon!

Not for me. I prefer a steel bezel and crown on a Doxa

Great-looking watch - do post some pictures if you go for a look OP.

Nice but I prefer the all steel.

Don't get me wrong, I like the all steel too. Especially with the box sapphire on the Sub 300.
I just think the Sub 300 Beta, looks better on the rubber strap.

There are probably three or four variations I could go for.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the circumference of your wrist?

About 7.2", and rounded rather than flat on top. The SUB300 is 42.5mm.

I saw a couple of watches with the black bezel in different dial colours in Bluewater.(I think they were the same model reference, I'm not familiar with them I'm afraid).

They looked very appealing. Not sure what the bezel is made of, but should be more scratch resistance than the steel version.

Another vote for the traditional style.

That's nice Chris. Does that have the domed crystal? Looks flat from the photo.

I like your Poseidon 300T Chris.
    What is your wrist circumference?
I'm trying to get an idea how it will look on my 6.75" wrist.

The lug to lug is 45mm and I've got away with watches with up to 50mm lug to lug.
    So I should be okay.

It is hard to decide which configuration I like the best.
I like a box sapphire, but the flat crystal makes the dial easier to read.
I think the Caribbean looks good with the wave dial and ceramic bezel. But I also like the orange and yellow in the all steel configuration.

I love it. Completley agree with you, blue dial and rubber strap just works so well (in my eyes)

6.75” Wrist here too and I have a 300T and a 300 Sub, absolutely no issues with the size. The 300 is slimmer and more of a vintage fit and feel but I’m not a fan of the bracelet and clasp on the 300T, it’s just too bulky imho. I have a tapered beads of rice bracelet from Aliexpress that I fitted using the Doxa end links, perfect! I’d definitely try one on though if you can.

Thanks Bigvic. Sounds like it would fit me okay.

    Which colours have you got?

Is the Sub 300 version, with box crystal, the closest to the original that was released in 1967?
According to the Doxa site, the 300T is based on the 1968 Conquistador.

That’s right, 300 has the slimmer case and top hat crystal. I’ve got a Caribbean 1000T which has more or less the same case as the 300T.

    Ive got the full Brazilian!

Ha, ha, very good! The yellow is very striking.

It’s a big jump in price between the 300T and the 300.
Anyone got a decent discount for a brand new one. A lot of places offer 0%. So if there is no discount, that would be tempting.

These 300Bs look very interesting, I do like a Doxa.

I like the look of the black/yellow Divingstar version, and the Aquamarine, both on black rubber.

    Please tell me more. Linky?

I love my 300 but have the same feeling about the bracelet - too wide and ruins the vintage vibe.

I investigated buying an original Expandro bracelet but that idea lasted about 5 minutes. The bracelets cost more than than the watch is worth.

Had a lot of doxa watches over the years, t graphs, vintage 300 aqualung , divingstars , project aware , seahunters, searamblers every variation of the aqualung edition including the carbon version, I’ve had every variation you could definitely say was a fan boy ,
Sold them all apart from one for old times sake but the bitch doesn’t get no wear should do I guess
