Transferwise
As title, need to send some money to Australia circa £20k, wondered what is the best way and rates?
Any help much appreciated.
The simple way would be to forward it to me and I will send it along.
I have used both MoneyCorp (very regularly) and TorFX (occasionally) to send money to and from Australia. I would highly recommend Moneycorp. Very straight forward and reassuring. Never had any problem at all.
You can simply call them and they will register you and talk you through the process. PM me should you need more information.
I researched quite a bit. Whoever you go with, ensure that they are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). 'Registered with' or 'certified by' are not the as being regulated by...
Tranferwise as others have said . I have sent to Australia many times with no problems and good rates.
Western union?
Transferwise 100%, sent money back to Oz a few times at great rates.
I've used TT Moneycorp for years, easy to set up an account, also helpful customer services.
Transferwise, never had any problems.

Transferwise
We used Transferwise recently without any problems.
Why not just via bank transfer - if you have BIC and IBAN numbers for the recipient then it's fairly straight forward.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
As mentioned Transferwise. I send large amounts of money each month abroad and used a few companies now but transferwise always comes back better plus its very user friendly.
Don't do it, they've got enough of the stuff there already...............
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Just to add to the avalanche of affidavits, TransferWise is superb.
First transfer fee is free at Azimo, I have used Western Union as well.

unlike the others I would go with Transferwise, it would cost you £111 to send it.
After seeing their profits slashed when services like Transferwise popped up, the traditional services such as WU or Money-gram have smartened up and reduces their transfer fees significantly. BUT (and that's a significant but) their conversion fees, which end up costing you much more than the transfer fee itself on large transfers, is still HUGE in comparison to Transferwise.
If you have really large amounts to transfer, into the 100's of k and above, large brokerage houses, such as Dukascopy, Saxo Bank, FX Pro offer what is called "settlement accounts" for their bigger clients, meaning you can do your own conversions inside internal accounts, at rates quite a bit lower than even Transferwise, basically very close to the mean spot rate, although I imagine if you had to open an account just for that, they won't be too happy about it but its a nice solution for those in the know ;) (they do it as a sort of favor to their investors (or gamblers) to be able to quickly switch assets from one currency into another if wanting to use those monies onto other markets)
