    Skydweller????

Drawn to a Rose Gold choco dial version, but the clasp is really bothering me, it looks out of place compaired to the rest of the watch a wee bit dainty for a 42mm, now if it had the sub adjustable one I'd be all over it.

Why do Rolex get so many things right but occasionally bugger a watch up, the 5mm extension/comfort link might help, but I'm a bit OCD about the clasp being centred on the wrist which I can achieve with my sub my BLNR is ever so slightly off centre and that shares the same clasp as the skydweller, do rolex do half links like Patek.

Would it bother you the clasp not being central.

Don't you just have to fit more links on one side than the other? Works for me on every watch I've owned.

It's on leather no doubt, so no extra links ;)

    Start again,

Not on leather that's easy to fix they Rolex have 2 strap size's 5.5 & 6.5, the skydweller is on a rose gold bracelet, my BLNR sits just off center the skydweller has the same clasp, altering links on one side still has the clasp slightly off center.

You must have an asymmetric wrist.

I decided to go down to the AD today take my BLNR and see if the Skydweller will sit the central if it doesn't then i'm off the idea.

I have a ym2 with the same clasp, there are 3 micro adjustment holes in the clasp as well as the 5mm bracket extension, so plenty of adjustability, but you can't change the fixed side so I get what you mean, but the bracelet is the same as all the other models just the clasp differs.
Initially I thought the bracelet was too dainty for a 42mm but having lived with it, it doesn't look out of place, in fact I now don't like parallel bracelets as much as I used to, find they look too big for the watch head on so many.

No joy I'm afraid it would have been more than his jobs worth to resize it, he would have to remove the stickers and that's a no no.

It was a best guess situation, so we hit a stalemate, going down another avenue later this week.

If the two pieces of leather are identical lengths, i can see a problem in getting it perfectly centered as the clasp only fine adjusts in one direction. Perhaps reversing the two leather pieces (assuming different lengths) would help?

    Cool

I personally like the RG with Chocolate dial Skydweller....very nice piece.

    WG, blk face, blk Leather.

By far best combo in my view.

Have tried on loads of times and may end up with one.

While trying on a Skydweller I noticed this in the dealers, from where I was sat the dial looked jet black so I asked if I could see it close up, I must admit I was slightly surprised.

I think it was released this year, the dial changes colour as you move the watch from green to black.

I like it alot, I was tempted to reach for the debit card but held back. This time,> going to have another viewing at some point next week, hopefully I will have come to my senses.

As long as it's comfortable on the wrist then for me personally it wouldn't matter.

Well the short answer is No.

The everose gold on braclet is not for me, but on leather it looks great, I just have to get that image out of my head first then I can move on.

I did in the end, this very afternoon, I like to buy in Jan Feb I feel like I get better deals + it's a lot quieter in town, just spent an hour taking the stickers off hate that job but I'm not complaining, had to order the long strap so it can fit at a cost of £285.00 quid my AD is sorting it out. It's wearable but a little snug. These are for high flyers with skinny wrists not fat slum landlords

    Some picks.

    The bloody stickers.

    The clasp is very comfortable.

Side by side with the other 42mm

The skydweller is 42mm same as the 5712 so I'm happy about that, if only they did the Daytona in 42mm (don't like the platinum) so at the moment my collection is complete I may even keep the Panerai.

See you at the next GTG.

Beautiful watch - I love how the rotating bezel is used to set this up.

    Haha.

Ha ha. My brother recently went to buy a strap for his Speedy at the local AD and was shown a Skydweller by the assistant. He took a pic of it and sent it to me with the question "what kind of c**t wears shit like this?"

    I actually lolled.

That looks stunning mate. Regarding the strap, it seems a little out of order that you have to buy a strap that is not suitable. Surely they can just order a watch with the longer strap from the get go for no surcharge?

It was already in stock with the std strap fitted, it's a bit snug on my 7 3/4" wrists so I had to bite the bullet and buy the longer one, the £285 is just for one side, the dealer helped a little with a decent discount. + he's shoved me to the top of the list for a new Daytona, but shush I'm not supposed to say that.

Ha ha ha Mark I knew you'd buy one! Congrats mate, I hate to say it but the gold does look lovely. I've got no idea how to tell the time on it though! Wear it in good health, or whatever the WUS lot say.

Ps. You might be able to sell the stickers on SC!

Thanks Kirk & I did like that Omega I was across the road but forgot to drop in and have a look, I keep seeing Alec in Sainsbury his he getting taller? I like the reflective inscription on the back of his flojo

Well pop in to see that daft Omega before the next gtg; I showed the chaps working there the photos from the last one - they loved your Patek and Neely8's (MIA) AP.

Edit- what the hell is a flojo?!

I tried on this very model (i.e. Rose gold) just after the recent price hike (can't post a link to my photos as my idevice wont link to Flickr 😤. It was strange to see the price at £22,990 on the hang tag but I was told it was a £29k watch.

I expected to dislike it but it felt so comfortable on the wrist and it has the prestige of being the most complex movement Rolex have ever made (cal 9001). I have a sneaking suspicion that in 20 years time it will be the Rolex to have; if everyone hates them they'll stay rare 😎

White gold, black face is the one for me. Is the box as disappointing as the Daytona's?

Enjoy the watch, Fords. Wear it in good health.

Will do Kirk, going down again to pick up my longer strap.

Flojo in tarmacing in circles short for fluorescent jacket, You must have sets in your disco and 280

I've got a few in my caravan.

I'm glad you noticed I thought it was just me.

They are all of the same watch, in some light it's yellow gold then directly above the lamp I swear it's white gold, as I move from the lounge to the kitchen it changes to everose copper colour, it kept me busy for a few hours this evening a odd one indeed.

All my bulbs are Philips LED warm white and cool light, in warm white it's yellow/almost white gold, in cool white it's everose copper, I will have to see what daylight brings.

The box is a little disappointing it's smaller than my yellow gold sub, I expected something grandiose with it's own drum roll built in, the wifes happy though she's fed up with the boxes in our dressing room cluttering the wardrobes, her only comments were it's nice and thank god it's only a small box.

That Patek is stunning, the very epitome of class and good taste.

The Skydweller is the opposite of all of these, utterly naff!

But the AD said it was the best Rolex make, have I been ripped off.

But then again the skydweller is the beater.
