Unless your a massive Bond fan I would go for the Tudor. The Bond SMP is a bit gimmicky
Hi guys im waiting for my tudor bronze watch to arrive and a friend is wanting to do a straight swap for an omega 50th bond edition. I like the watch, both nice watches, any recommendations?
thanks

Thank your friend for his kind offer and tell him to get stuffed.
I do sort of get the whole Bond thing. But dozens of 007 logos...bleurgh.
Not for me I'm afraid. I just recently moved my standard SMPc on, and one of the best things about it was the deep glossy dial... the 007 dial ruins the watch for me.
If you like it though, go for it...
I know which one will look better and be worth more in a few years time and it ain't the SMP
one of my first watches was an omega seamaster bond edition, i do like them but on the other hand ive never owned a tudor watch.

the wavy dialed version looks much nicer than the one with 007 all over it. But I think the Tudor beats them both on looks
If it had been the 1st Bond one I would have said have a think. This one just had 007 on the second hand but the dial was untouched. The one with 007 all over the place is not a pretty watch. I think it has a nice case back though "gun rifling and a bullet back"
no-brainer, question your friendship, he's trying to have you over
The Tudor looks so much nicer, it's not a deal I'd be making.
I want a bronze watch just to put it in a bag with an egg and get some patina.
Tudor for me too, every time. If it's a watch that you're thinking you might move on in a while I suspect that the views noted above will tell you all you need to know - the bronze Tudor will have more of a following, on here at least, I reckon.
Keep the Tudor
Yea i think il just keep my original purchase, maybe because ive not got the tudor yet probably im just impatient

Unless the first two letters of your username stand for 'Mish Moneypenny', it's a no.
______
Jim.
Even I would prefer to Tudor
It's just a matter of time...
Although I love both brands the Tudor wins hands down here for me, as I type this at 18:30hrs that sounds a bid cheesy, but not as cheesy as 007 all over the dial.
I love the standard SMPc though!

Tudor
I'm going to go against the general trend here, I think the Tudor is a wonderful looking watch, but in a straight choice between that and the Omega, I'm going for the Omega. I love the simple ness of the 50th celebration. Classic watch and a winner for me.

Not a fan of the SMP post 2254. This particular bond version is less desirable than the regular one, for me at least.
Would go with the Omega. Partly because have fallen out of love with bronze.
The worst thing is sometimes people mistake it for gold from far.
Tudor and Oris have come out with couple of the best bronze watches for sure.
Quoting from net:
To remove patina, rinse the bronze item in warm, distilled water and gently clean it with a toothbrush. Make a paste from either baking soda mixed with lemon juice or equal parts of flour and salt mixed with plain, white vinegar. Gently rub the paste onto the bronze and leave it for about 20 minutes.
Not in a million years. The Tudor oozes class and the Bond oozes cheese.
Easy one for me too. No way.
The 007 dial is tacky IMO
