Once again Scotland are a better team than opposition by a mile - but fail.

Pound to penny 1966 will get mentioned!!

And that'll be an own goal too probably.

When I saw Joe hart with that tennis ball I thought he was gonna drop it or it let it bounce over his body.

We've not had a proven international scorer since Dalglish. 30 years. It beggars belief. We create but don't take chances.

On paper England have thumped us. If I were an England fan I'd be treating this as a narrow victory. If we'd had any clinical finishers England's sloppy defending would have been punished.

No you're the gullible ones to think the press represent the attitude of the average England fan. Honestly I've never met an England fan with the attitude you describe. We know we've been poor for many, many years.

Scotland are just as big a joke as England though even allowing for the difference in available players. There's zero quality throughout the whole squad.

Steady on WC1. We are all having banter here. Wind your neck in and breathe.

This is called fun and good exchanges. Your team has won as expected. Stop being a Pratt.

England and Scotland are identical in terms of disappointment. When you pitch England against Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Argentina, Portugal ie countries of broadly similar standards and population, they are dreadful.

Scotland are just as dreadful when you compare us to Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Uruguay, Wales, Norway, Belgium etc.

Both teams seem destined to be making up the numbers in tournaments for the foreseeable future.

The grass roots volume of football in both countries is woeful compared to the past and England's premiership fortunes being plowed into foreign talent kills their chances.

Listen WC if you're that far gone whereby you can't tell when big boys are having fun with the odd barbed remark and sharing fun then go for a long walk and think to yourself "have I got this wrong?" If your upset by ANY of this you have my sympathy. England won. Celebrate rather than go looking fir a group of geezers who had a good night irrespective of the team they follow. You are the stereotype referred to hereon earlier.

Scottish football has never been so bad. Gordon strachan has done his best. Who'd want the job if he decides he's had enough.

Southgate could be thinking the same but he could turn things around given a chance and all of uk would get that benefit. As long as he doesn't wear those shoes from the last game. Tut tut.

    Thanks a good night guys.

Not the best game of footie but you each made it a memorable one.

Good luck England. Get a grip Scotland.

    And 1966 wasn't (hasn't been) mentioned once.

    Out here

    3-0. Not a bad guess.

    England poor, Scotland worse.
International football is all a bit of a yawn until the Q finals anyway.

Friendlies have seldom been England's problem. Even Scotland have had some magnificent friendly results over the years! I doubt the Spain match will reveal much about your team.

If retaining an interest is the best claim you can make then that in itself indicates the problem. On paper, table wise, things look rosy but anyone who's watched England's games and knows anything about football will have little confidence about their chances against the big boys in serious competition.

Nicola Sturgeon says she doesn't accept the result of the England vs Scotland football match and will seek to have it overturned.

A few guys I know down at the game saying there had been a bit of fisticuffs in amongst the Tartan Army over the Indy Ref stuff.
Its so bloody divisive it really does my head in and really can't stand the thought of another.

I've never understand the whole 1966 thing. So England won the World Cup in their own stadium? Whoop-de-doo.

As achievements go the England Rugby Team winning the World Cup in 2003 ranks as a much better win

    Don't be silly mate.

The Rugby world cup has every team that plays the game involved in it, roughly 20 teams. No qualifiers and just a few teams with a real chance of winning.

The football World cup has 200 odd teams and qualifiers.

    Nothing like the same.
    Cheers,
    Neil.
