    Knife sharpening

I have a few pen knifes and decent kitchen knives, best way to sharpen as an amateur? Horl 2 gets food reviews?

    Yep I recently bought one
    It’s the easiest way
It won’t get the knife scalpel sharp but good enough for everyday use, sharpening stones and a strop are the best way but a bit of a faff

If you can afford the Horl 2 you’ll do a great job. Nothing is totally foolproof because fools are so ingenious, but it comes really close.

There is a thread with plenty of suggestions here, Knife sharpener thoughts - kitchen ones

I've bought a few over the last five years and the Horl2 is the best that I have had by far

    Haha so true.

I got a Horl2 after a recommendation on here & it’s bloody marvellous. First time is a little time consuming, the felt tip markers on the blade is a good idea so you know you’ve got the angle.

Given your lover of premium spinners, Dave, you know there is only one choice!

I’m still toying with the next 2 discs for even finer sharpening, and see they have an ultimate one too. And then a £300 to store it all in, clever buggers.

As my friend commented (who got convinced by me) we spend more on knife sharpening equipment than chefs and cooks up & down the land who use them more often and to earn livings. Very true.

Lol.yeah, I think I've butchered , excuse the pun, my knives so have a cheaper one to pull them back and then get the Horl to sharpen

    Knife sharpening

    The Horl2 is amazing.
My pocket knives are now shaving sharp, and my kitchen knives have been rescued from borderline letter-opener sharpness to really-quickly-finger-chopped-off sharp.

It is also so well made that it is a joy to hold and use.
They have done fantastically well with this as a product.
(And the chap on the website/adverts for Horl is always sporting a Panerai)
