My wife bought me a pair of cufflinks for my birthday. Hooray! They are rather unusual in that they are small watches which fit neatly into the links. On further inspection with my loupe all the components are there other than the ratchet wheel screw (I think that's what it is) which has been replaced by a coloured stone. They both look as though there is fair wear and tear on the parts. I can make out the words 17 jewels.
They measure 15mm in diameter.
The thing that is intriguing me is what would watches of this size be made for.
They are not from a luxury brand.

Nice. I have a pair that have been made from cutting out part of the movement from an old (presumably cheap and broken) movement, they look quite good thought and I get a lot of positive comments on them. Often more comments than on whatever watch I might be wearing!
