Venice is fantastic, but it offers much better things to do than watch browsing in the tourist trap area.
So, the boss says that she wants to go to Venice - do we have to ?
As usual, she gets her own way, and I find myself ambling around St Marks's Square with countless thousand other bored husbands.
Then, the skies open and cast a ray of sunlight onto the shops which are hidden away under the arches on the long sides of the square :
Within 50 yards, you have boutiques for most of the top brands - IWC next to Rolex, and Panerai two stores down.
It was an uplifting experience, i tried on my first RO Offshore, and the Vacheron Constantin Overseas range was very interesting.
Curiously, Patek did not have their own boutique, but were represented by an AD across the square.
So, if you have an hour to spare in Venice, drag the other half along to St Mark's square!
