Op posted that saying it was a 48 hr special, kinda agree with the previous comment about this thread being about deals that are past and was hoping to find out in advance about upcoming deals.

No the GTI deal was up for 48hrs unfortunately.

The R deals of two years ago were sub £7k over two years and I have not seen them that cheap since. I was having a real ponder what to do as the R has been one of the best entertaining all rounders I have owned. It's brutal, the handling and the way it puts power down is breath taking, it takes four comfortably and it doesn't shout like the RS's etc so pleased I managed a good loyalty deal on another. What did Clarkson say about it...." You could take an R to a meeting of the Socialist Workers party and they’d embrace you as a brother.

Anyway let's get back on topic .....

Does anyone know the best place to hunt for an i3? Or an outlander phev? PCH. I've never done a PCH but with EV/PHEV I think it would be wise not to buy outright.

One of the theatre sisters knew I was looking into leasing and is forever sending me offers. Always central ehicleleasing. Had some cracking Golf options which have been covered already.

I decided to buy an older Golf and we use that for her 'commute' to the train station instead. I still receive my offers, forever teasing me. Next time.

Paul you need to be a bit careful with deals you're quoting here as two of them this year (Golf GTI and Passatt Alltrack) were incorrect pricing issued by VWFS and then pulled off the market with hours due to issues with their Connect System (the method by which deals are uploaded to the Broker market) showing rate that were not right.

This also happened on the SQ7 and Golf R estate this year for half a day.....nature of a complex market that mistakes are often made.

If it's too good to be true then nine times out ten it is!!

Any TZers know of leasing deals more suitable for higher mileage? If so please can you make suggestions.

Yes, you can have any mileage that you want but obviously the more miles you need/will cover, the less the car is worth at the end of the term so the rentals are going to be higher than what is termed as "average" or "normal" here.

What sort of mileage are you talking about Sammy?

that's not too high but there would be an uplift over a lower mileage.

As a VERY rough example a VW Golf GTD DSG 5 door Hatchback on a 2 year Personal Contract Hire agreement (3+23 profile, 8,000 miles per annum) would be at c. £299 per month (inc VAT) and at 20,000 miles it would be c. £379 @ month (inc VAT)

Sure, this is a growing part of what our Brokerage business does mate.

I wouldn't really bother with, or recommend, PHEV/EV options just yet. The technology is still not fully there (might be in 10+ years still) and the cars themselves have many drawbacks compared to their petrol/diesel equivalents.

Probably because it's known for being woefully out of date and the fact that under 15% of the market suppliers are on there.....?

If you're looking for an EV, join the speakEV forum.

There are dealers on there offering some really good deals on EVs.

It's mainly Leafs and Zoes but occasional i3s. Never any Teslas though!

It's also worth remembering that often it's cheaper to get a lower mileage deal and then pay the excess mileage, than to take out a higher mileage deal to start with.

You need to check out the excess mileage cost (typically around 6p per mile) and work out the total cost and compare it to the cost of a higher mileage deal.

For my wifes car, it was far cheaper to take the 8k deal and pay an extra 4k miles at the end of the 2 years than to take a 10k deal on the same car with the same company

Ignore the stats on range. Especially on VW ones.

I've got a golf gte. Hate it. 2 more years till I can pick up a good lease but will read this with interest anyway.

    Yes and No......

It used to be the case with certain companies (VWFS - so VW/Audi etc) that the excess was very low so going over any limit wasn't a great hardship and as you said it made more sense to have a lower mileage contract amount to have lower rentals...but of late a number of finance suppliers (including VWFS) have raised their excess figures (for the first time in 3.5 years) to reflect the changing market and the RV's.

For example the excess on a VW Golf R/GTi was 7.2ppm (inc VAT) and now it is 10.8ppm (inc VAT) - so need to ensure you consider this.

We have a Kia Soul EV, the Mrs has had it for 6 months and loves it. Does about 100 miles on a charge, 4miles per KWH so about 2p per mile. We got it through Fleetdrive Electric. They specialise in EV and Phevs, had some very good rates. Always think it's interesting that people say the technology is still developing, too right it is, but that's one of the great things about a lease, you are just trying it for a couple of years Anne the you give it back and try something else. iCE cars are changing at a huge rate too. We looked at a lot of EV's when buying this and they all have pros and cons Speak EV is a great resource of knowledge, would suggest you do some research before buying one.

Agree re research. However I did quite a lot. I'm also on speak and seems like I have a different experience with the gte as others do. My usual range is about 18 miles. I've given up with the electric part now and just drive in gte mode.

Not quite that cheap, watch those sneaky 'additional fees'
    £67.25+vat a month + £605.25+vat initial rental + £1894..75+vat additional fees = £4856.10 all in, so over £200 a month

At a glance, I'd read the additional fees as the main payments over 23 months. My mistake and as you say, a bit sneaky!

Still not a bad deal though.

Surprisingly after subscribing to this thread, mercedes has called three times trying to get me into the showroom offering deals on the new model saying as I'm 2 years into a 3 year lease I'm now in positive equity and that 2 years in is the best time to change. Sales must be down in my area.

This may be of interest to you. It's BMW business deals (so plus vat). I got my 640 m sport Gran coupe last year on a fantastic deal and its even better now.

Mistake or not, i've requested a quote, be perfect for the wife

£782+vat all in for a 3yr deal, that is just silly

Anyone else had luck getting a 'business only' lease deal on a personal basis?

Does anyone else find that these companies are all pretty terrible at getting back to you when you ask for a quote?

I've been e-mailing and calling two of them trying to sort a new car for my Mrs, and on average, it's 24 to 48 hours for an email reply, and so far, I've never been called back. (Have called 1 company once and the other twice, both times told they'd call back asap.)

I called UVL yesterday morning to actually place my order. The lady said "OK great! Just let me call our warehouse to see if we have one in stock or if it'll be a 10 week order......I'll call you back within the hour...."

And I've still not had a call back.

    Poor!

Deal --- what do you think?

Just about to go for it.

    Polo GTi DSG 5dr

Std spec plus pearl black paint.

9+23 is £168 inc vat for 23 months and an initial of £1515. 8000 miles. No maintenance. Total cost inc fees is £5600 for 2 years rental.

Car is in stock for a 2-3 week delivery.

After hours of hunting, I think we've found it!! Does that seem ok?

Other one we looked at and test drove was the Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost ST-Line manual, which was about £4350 all in for 2 years and 8000 miles pa.

I think the GTi and DSG gearbox is worth the extra £600 a year.

I'd go for the Fiesta. My daughter has the standard eco boost and it's pretty quick, the ST is at least 20% more powerful.

She's buying hers but has lost much more than £4.5k in her two years of ownership so far!

Dunno about the Polo, but am looking at the Fiesta myself.

Wife currently has the predeccesor, Fiesta Zetec S 125, due to go back in Feb, so the ST-Line, which is pretty much the same spec but with 140bhp, is top of the list at the mo.

Can get it a fair bit cheaper than £4350 though, best i've seen so far is £3810

    http://www.freedomcontracts.com/Ford...nal-Lease/2564

FYI, the ST-Line is just a trim level of a standard fiesta (replacing the old Zetec S) with a slightly breathed on 140BHP 1.0 ecoboost. It is not a Fiesta ST, which is a 1.6 ecoboost with 180 or so BHP

Yup - we drove the 140bhp ST-Line and the Polo GTi on Sunday. GTi is much more of a hoot to drive, and the DSG gearbox is fantastic.

If you try to find an automatic Fiesta, they come in at crazy prices circa £240 a month!

The deal above for the fiesta at Freedom, the price of £3800 was one I enquired about, but was told that they've not yet updated their website to the new Q4 prices. They said that due to the dratted Brexiteers, the price is now closer to £4350; which is the same as a real live quote I got on Friday. (For a 5door 140 ST-line with navigation).

We should have sorted this out a few weeks ago when it was cheaper!
