I'm sitting in a car dealer's office right now trying to negotiate a lease on a 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT N Line!

Cheers to Pitch for the heads-up about this - I was also unaware this was an option. Currently on a 24 month lease of a Golf R Estate, 15,000 miles p.a. directly through VW. The lease ends this Sept.

I had an offer in March for a new lease (same car, terms, etc) from the VW sales guy who arranged the initial lease, but the price had gone up by £50 per month from what I'm currently paying. I asked him about extending having seen your note, but he told me you could only do a formal extension within 2 months of the end of your lease; and also the monthly cost for extending could be more not less as it's based on the residual value of the car, which may or may not be true but I was a bit sceptical about that given the residual value was hardly going to be more than it is now?!

Anyway, just come off the phone with VW finance having agreed a 12 month extension for 15,000 miles again for £239. I'm perfectly happy with the car, and as someone else has said it seemed like a no-brainer given I'm paying a £60 admin fee rather than 6 months initial payment for a new agreement.

When I comes to VW formal extensions I found it best to phone them rather than email as all my emails went unanswered.

I did that, and they kindly offered to double the monthly payment amout if I wanted to extend the lease on my Touareg. I kid you not.

So I told them it really wasn't very tempting...

I am starting to look because my Touareg lease ends at the end of October.

I'm actually not finding it easy.

As 90% of it's use is trundling in and out of work, a lot of the time in slow moving traffic, I am really wanting to get something that does significantly better than the 23mpg I get with the 3.0TDi.

However, I still want it to be large, comfy, have all the toys, and preferably four wheel drive.

I've been to look at Alfa Stelvios, Q5's, Mercs, Jags, Land Rover Velar, Volvos and more.

And the one I keep coming back to is a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 4HS.

Nothing else seems to tick as many boxes (although it isn't as quick as I would like). I'm also just not sure I can get excited by one, although a close friend and fellow petolhead has one and loves it.

    Any opinions?
So clever my foot fell off.

VWFS offered me an e-Golf for £450 ish a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't even asked them to quote me one!

I note that the Tesla Model 3 is being listed by some Leasing Companies now - not sure if they actually have them available yet - but the prices seem astronomic - up to £880 per month for the performance version.

The Tesla’s are crazy money. No idea if £450 for the Golf is good, seems a little high considering the relatively low purchase price.

That’s not too bad at all, low miles and long term but good price. The Tesla price sounds really good!

Just talking about buying the wife's today, as the car she wants isn't available on her scheme as it's too high on CO2, so just trying to work out what to do.

Just waiting to hear back on an Audi Q8, works out at 20% of retail price.
Through pink car leasing, deal has been taken off website now but details still on Pistonheads.

Do you have a number for them, I called via the number on their website but was told they could only pass it onto their extensions dept who would replay by email. It took weeks & the quote was way more than I currently pay :-(

I am looking at either buying or leasing a new Audi TT for my wife shortly. Have never leased a car before so wanted to get a view on the pros and cons. Seems like it’s less up front and potentially less hassle but being tied in for 3 years no matter what concerns me a bit (don’t like not being able to change the car if I want/need to)

Also if anyone come across a TT deal please let me know!

    Thanks!

Zander, I generally do 24 month PCH’s and they come round pretty quick. You can opt out but it will cost, maybe 50% of what is left on the hire period but do check.

We are on the second two leases, a Golf R and R Design XC 90 and both work out well below what the depreciation would be. First two leased, Golf R and Q7 went back with no hassle at all.

Works well for us and money invested from selling last two owned cars has performed exceptionally well.

Maxing deal on 530d M Sport

Just signed up to this myself. Pre-registered but new at £347 a month including VAT on a 6 plus 23. Basically costs you 10k for two years on a car which has a new value of 50k. They are in stock for immediate delivery.

In case anyone is currently looking at extending a VWFS lease & didn't know, you can ask for extension quotes as many times as you like and the prices do change.

    I am on a 1 + 23 @ £307 6k 9p/mile excess mileage for a Golf Estate R that expires in September.

I asked for a 12 mth extension quote in May and was offered £244 for a total 15k.

I waited until this week then asked again & was offered £266 so I filled in the forms that were sent in May & it was accepted.

Sadly the days of dirt cheap sub 20% lease deals seem to be over & I can't find anything remotely close to the R in terms of performance/price so it's staying.

Would be perfect for a run around - is that including VAT, or do you need to add VAT and a huge initial payment?

Be warned, these guys charge an industry-leading £600 admin fee, then another £300 on top which they only tell you about when you call - no mention on the site. So you're sinking £900 into any lease with them before you even get started.

Couple of deals around at the moment that looks good value.

Pink Leasing have a Velar D150 R-Dynamic HSE offer which looks good https://www.leaseloco.com/car-leasin...r-auto/8399570

If you search leasing.com you'll find a nice couple of high spec deals on the E-class Coupe too. I just started process today, although also have a call in about the Velar so if still available that would edge it probably.

There are also some nice Volvo deals around for S90s, V90s, and V60s. This one is pretty decent for short term https://autochoices.co.uk/volvo-s90-...oon-automatic/

    Great thread!!

Never considered leasing but these figures work great!

  45. #645
Just be aware that headline figures are never accurate to the deal you actually want.

EG £150/month for a new S90 Volvo, actually turns out as

    Contract Length 24 Months
    Initial Rental £3,000.00 inc VAT
    Annual Mileage 10,000
    Admin Fee £180.00 inc VAT

23 Months @£233.39 inc VAT per Month

some I'm nearly 3.5k up front and then £233 a month

The 1.5 petrol is pretty cheap atm , no sure which trim level it is though. Leasing.com brings up plenty of offers on it.

I’ve jumped on the e-Golf deal. First foray into electric.

I've just gone for an Octavia Estate 2.0 TDI SE Tech Manual for £229 on 1+35. Need diesel grunt for towing and also need an estate, but otherwise that 1.0TSI hatch is a bargain
