    Corum Bubble... thoughts?

I'm sure there has already been a post discussing the Corum Bubble watches...

But I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on them considering they're quite different.
    https://www.horologii.com/watch-revi...-watch-review/

I personally love them and think the enlarged sapphire crystal glass is awesome.

I love them too! I don't know much about the quality but i love the design.
I've been scanning the net for a reasonably priced Baron Samedi for a while now,....... Not easy to find

Skeleton Bubble, definitely yes. But as for others, I'm not so sure.

Speaking as someone that used to own one, I can safely say that quality is one area you don't have to worry about.... everything from the case, the strap the dial and the clasp was absolutely top notch.... yes they're a novelty watch, but there's nowt wrong with being different.....I loved mine, and it was one watch that everyone loved when they saw and handled it......wish I'd kept it really...

To each their own and all that...but seriously that baron samedi is offensive.

I used to have a Corum Bubble Dive Bomber Flying Tiger watch which was brilliant. Came in a watch box in the style of a WW2 ammo box. The bubble was so big that it kept hitting things but it is completely indestructible - a wall, the wall got damaged: fell on a marble floor, the floor was permanently marked, etc. etc.

Brings back a lot of happy memories! Nothing rock star or ugly about it.

The one I remember which was ultra cool was the Jolly Roger Chrono, it looked amazing.

I've personally never got the Corum brand at all and the bubble watches specifically but had a friend who was mad for them. They were the only watch he ever really fancied, saved for it, bought it, wore it every day and bought another. Really single minded. I admired his focus and his passion but the watches were just way too odd for my taste.

Takes (liquorice) all sorts to make the world go round – both he, the reseller, and Corum were all happy. That’s all that matters.

    Interesting things

Not to my taste at all but then I guess I fall into the boring old fart camp

If you like them then thats the main thing

I was going to say "hideous, never seen a Corum I liked" but then Ian's response above is slightly more measured so I'll go with that.

    They are wrong !

Like? Yes, I haven't seen a variant that I didn't like the look of. Great fun and in a world of "serious" watches that is to be applauded.

    Wear one? Nope.

I love Corum as a brand. I've owned a few different models, including two bubbles.

I wish I still had this original Skeleton...

And this is a fairly recent arrival...

I have the same one in my collection. As others have said, quality is superb and the packaging on the limited editions is wonderful. This one comes with vampire teeth box, the only box I have on display. It'll be my Halloween watch:)

The new releases have a certain cool oddness to them. I like the story behind the Paiste one where they make a miniature cymbal

They are on the large side now

Never seen them up close, the bubble looks interesting, not sure on some designs where actually reading the time looks challenging, good if you want a fun watch with a picture.

I really can't see the attraction of these watches - it's a straight NO from me.

Think that they are harmless fun, just like a Swatch watch.
If only they were in the Swatch watch price range! No wonder they are high quality at that price

  23. #23
I really like them and wouldn't mind getting one at some point. The only one I've seen in the flesh though is the skeleton.

I am going to do a complete turn around - I love that cymbal one and the Skelton one is really cool. I should know better than to judge too soon at my age !

  26. #26
I love the bat bubble and remember being very impressed when I first saw one. Not sure I'd wear one every day - the Golden Bridge on the other hand ...

  27. #27
I think the Bubble is a great watch.. the various themed watches, like my Joker below coupled with the bonkers Bubble crystal are loads of fun. These special editions were pricy in their day, and still command strong money now. I just love 'em.

Not for me, but hey........who cares? If you like it, go for it.

  29. #29
For a long time I wanted one but the price seems steep for a novelty. Anyone actually wear one as a daily?

At least it keeps them rare! To be fair they are excellent quality and you can buy plenty of watches at that price that aren't as good. U Boat and some Tags amongst others come to mind. Some people think 65k is worth spending on a Richard Mille...

    No...
But according to the certificate that came with the watch, in Asian culture the bat is a bringer of good luck and health....

At the time, I could have done with some, especially the health bit......seemed to do the trick, and then when sold it also provided a bit of good luck.....win win.

I like the bat watch. Looks like high quality and I think you can do a whole lot worse at the price they are asking.

That might me true. Just from the picture it self it doesn't look like an expensive watch. Maybe I might need to see the in the flesh. But it could also be the dials that look bit like airbrush to me...
