The unified Rolex in the window thread

Tried on a couple of OP’s and a DJ last week at Goldsmiths Trafford Centre. They didn’t have any 41mm at all!

Was pleasantly surprised by the 34mm OP

Is that the olive green dial? I looked at one last week. Lovely watch - and reasonably priced in the current market!

Goldsmiths in the Trafford centre has a Rose gold Daytona 116515LN chocolate/Arabics on oysterflex in their window today.

Odd that they should be selling that since it is not in the Rolex catalogue for the UK market. I assume they sourced it from Europe so effectively a grey dealer? Anyhoo it is being sold new and at list £22.5k so a good buy if you like that configuration.

Currently sitting in Zurich airport and the Rolex dealer has about 4 watches. All the display cabinets are bare.

Why do folk keep bumping this thread?

We do not need to know every remote location in the world you can’t buy a popular Rolex

For what it's worth the windows of Bucherer at Westfield (White City) were bereft of anything interesting this morning.

I can't believe how much the gmts are now I remember 3 years ago when I bought my sub the local chav converters had a black faced ceramic gmt with the green gmt hand with box and papers for £4k and it sat in the window for months couldn't give it away, then all the decent brand watches eg Rolex breitling omega all disappeared ever since they just have cheap crap like Michael kors and Armani

If I knew then what I know now etc etc having bought a SD4000c at discount when in the window and sold for a price beginning with a “5” and having previously sold my Hulk below £6k too... I sold them as I preferred other watches. The prices go up as people want to “invest” in what is no longer available, I got a good deal on both the above as they weren’t particularly popular at the time...

Anyone looking for a 36mm OP white? One in the city near me. I have it on hold for a forum member but bad timing for them.

Thought I would offer here before calling them to say no.

Are SS Sky dwellers as bad as the rest of SS models to get? Looking for a blue face one for a family member.

Budget at least 5k over list. Especially for the blur dial.

Nice selection in Meloneras, Gran Canaria at the moment. The Yacht Master has been there for a couple of days.

They had two SD's on Sunday gone, one 44mm and TT. Tried on the Stainless but it was too big for my liking so passed. Both sold within an hour.

Nipped into Lunns’ (Belfast) new Rolex boutique today at lunchtime. Very relaxed environment as I was the only customer, two female sales staff, a security guard operating the door and a load of gold Datejusts or whatever they are called on display.

I took a seat and explained I was just passing and apologised in advance for my question, but when did they think their beautiful new shop would see a stainless steel sports model? The lovely ladies laughed and said they regularly see steel models but there are customers waiting and they never go on display.

They asked where I purchased the Hulk I was wearing and I told them from their other branch and as a loyal customer i could be interested in a Daytona. I’m not really but I was interested to see where it might lead. They explained their waiting list was closed and the chances of getting one were negligible. They did say that they get as many steel models now as they have ever done but its just they have customers waiting as the brand is now so popular. They agreed that as sales staff it was disappointing they didn’t have much display stock to sell but they did have some desirable models in the safe.

My ears perked up. I asked how someone might be granted the amazing privilege to be considered eligible to buy from the sacred Rolex safe. I was told that Rolex advised them to sell to customers who had purchased jewelry from them in the past or was a future good customer. I asked what a future good customer might be and they said someone who was maybe buying their first Rolex and likely to come back and buy more. I was told such a customer was a priority over someone like myself who had purchased two Rolexes from them in the past few years. They also said they wouldn’t sell to any tourists and customers had to have a NI postcode.

They asked if I still wanted to be considered for a Daytona as it could be 8-9 years of a wait. I told them that whilst I liked my Hulk, I felt the brand was losing its way and I couldn’t be arsed jumping through a load of hoops for the chance to buy a watch.

I wished them farewell and no doubt they had a very quiet day in their empty but expensively fitted out shop.

The madness that is Rolex continues.

I made sure to remove mine before the doors slid open. Could see the towering security guard eye balling me as I took them off.

Dropped the buggers today and cracked one of the lenses as well. One more thing to add to the holiday bill....

Yeah. Didn't clock the ref, but the lass in the shop confirmed it was a 44mm. Only tried one on but both were new with tags.

They've got two, other is their other shop in the Boab complex. Both haven't shifted in the time I've been here.

The air king has sold, though.

Where is Eldon Square? I’m thinking of firing up the Quattro and heading over, downing my trousers to have the purchase details tattooed onto my buttocks so they can be checked against any future purchases.

Oh wait, I don’t care so will probably stay home whilst I brush my George Cleverleys suedes in readiness for a sartorial night on the town.

Sorry for terse response, sat home on hunger strike and feeling rather grouchy.
