I asked about this today, apparently there were 5 people on the list, all of whom when contacted said they’d changed their mind and wanted a Pepsi instead...

So it was placed in the window, within 5 minutes a customer came in and wanted to buy it, but on being informed that the warranty card would be kept, suddenly didn’t want it...

5 minutes after he left, another customer bought it with guarantee card withheld for 12 months...

The one asking about the warranty card was me. Never said I wanted the watch, just inquired about the terms so I could post it on here.

Wasn't much stock there to get the juices flowing. Plenty of ladies datejusts and some mens ones. White dial Milguass, white and rhodium OP39s but that was about it.

In which city was the shop?

There be watch p0rn in Maastricht. Not the AD but grey dealers have a lot of vintage/old Rolex watches alongside a White Daytona, numerous Hulk’s, some Kermit’s & even a new Pepsi GMT.
Was offered a reasonable amount for my Hulk, thought i’d ask for curiosity, not going anywhere though!

A new Hulk is about a 2 year waiting list at the AD there, shortest list I have come across so far but you need to leave €1,000 deposit

For anyone interested in vintage, Mike Wood has a Red Sub listed for under £10k.

I’d be more inclined to buy this (because I like it) rather than pay several grand over list for the steel one. I own several bimetal watches, they look best with white or silver dials, this one’s no exception.

I saw it too and tried it on. It’s been there a few weeks now and as you say the hands were replaced.

Good availability in fuertoventura.......plenty of steel Daytona’s at good prices..........

In the actual AD and i tried on a few gold Daytona’s!

He said he could get a 126710BLRO if I bought the gold Daytona!

Didn’t really get into specifics or ask to see!

Not been watch shopping for a while, but read many of these posts. Was passing a goldsmiths branch earlier & not even either i or ii explorers present, just DJ and Oysters of various sizes, and a few bits of two tone.

Did have a Lefty Pelagius there, first time I’ve seen the faux aged lume vs my std one. Not sure if I’m convinced.

The faux aged lume on such a modern styled watch looks stupid.

Is that the Antipodean Daytona, designed to read the bezel upside down?!

I know they are not overly difficult to come by, but there was an Explorer in the window of Goldsmiths in Reading when I walked past earlier.

Also asked about safe but nothing.

The chap working there said their supply is not how it used to be. They very rarely get the desirable models but are asked every 5 mins if they have them!!

The shop staff were admiring the BLNR I had on and commented how hard it is for them to get in their country. I reaffirmed it is not easy in the UK either!!

Ok so maybe supply is or is not increasing but people (myself included) have got to the top of a supposed very long waiting list in circa two weeks. Adding that fact to the reported sports watches seen in windows, again I include myself in seeing these.

Have you seen or heard of anyone seeing a steel Daytona, gmt, hulk, sub or skydweller? I haven’t seen or know of anyone who has seen one in the window. Plenty of gold and bi metal sports models around. In actual fact most ADs have plenty of these.

Not in the window but perhaps more are now swimming just below the surface.

In the last 6 months I've had a SD50 and a SS Pepsi from my local AD. OK, maybe purchasing a 279383RBR for the wife helped a bit.

When I said to the AD that I was thinking of giving up on getting an AD supplied ceramic white-dialled Daytona and going grey-market, he said,
'Don't! It won't be long now.'

I recently picked up a GMT in under two weeks, after joining an AD’s waiting list too 👍

No. I phoned them, the first time I walked into the shopping centre let alone the AD’s shop, was when I went to pick it up

Care to elaborate? I can if it helps you. My local AD lost it’s Rolex brand. Although I’d been on their list, I only ever bought from elsewhere in the past. When they lost It, I contacted head office of the shop that I thought might get the Rolex brand and walked into the shop to speak to the manager who told me she would not actually want to have the Rolex hassle. Head office put me in contact with their nearest shop. Less than two weeks later I had the call, despite being stupidly busy I went that evening and picked it up. Photos on here too if you care do a search..... likely story indeed!

I only asked a question, never accused you of lying. Watchfinder are selling these for over £10k so if they were readily available I doubt such a large premium would exist. What I would say is you personally have been extremely lucky. Without wishing to antagonise, I doubt you’d strike it lucky twice. Reminds me of when I applied to go on the Patek 5711 list and 6 months later I got the call, it does happen. But my experience was 2 years ago before the current madness.

No worries. I appreciate my timing (maybe everyone else on the list was on holiday) maybe my conversation attitude or whatever helped to make this available. End of the day it’s a keeper and I love it. Also have D Blue deepsea, I think I must quite like the blue and black theme

Just had a call from Michael Spiers Taunton branch.
They have a Sea-Dweller in stock. They informed me that they will be keeping the warranty card.
I have passed and am out of the area at the moment. So unable to pick it up for someone.

    Sea-Dweller Deepsea or SD43?

Big difference when it comes to people looking.

Good pick up for someone either way, can’t see an SD43 hanging around long if that’s what it is.
