The "tool watches being hardy" photo thread

Took this pic for the Friday thread and it gave me an idea for a photo thread all of its own.
I generally wear tool watches to work because I cycle in and I know they can take a bit of a bashing if the worst came to the worst or just if I get sweaty.
So let this be the start of a photo thread of when you're wearing a tool watch to do something where only a tool watch is an option.
    Let's celebrate their hardiness!

Hey! If it can handle behaving 'toolishly' then it must be a tool, right?!

My Garmin half way up Y Garn in Snowdonia whilst doing the Nantlle ridge in very wet weather!

I use this mainly for hiking and sometimes at the weekend when gardening or doing chores.

Great idea for a thread, I look forward to contributing when the appropriately ‘toolish’ activity presents itself

Let myself down badly. Have taken lots of photographs in the mountains, but not many of my watch in the mountains.

First one from the campsite before popping up Yr Wyddfa. Was intending to take another of it at the top, but we were in the clouds and could see nothing.

The other is looking up to Rushup Edge.

Both days were exceedingly wet, although probably didn't need 20atm of wr...

A nice little dip in the Pacific Ocean. Love the fact it also has the tides so you can check before you head to the beach

I googled this to find out where it was and have just spent a very pleasing 30 mins reading up, what a beautiful part of the world.

Does getting blasted loudly from the bell of a French Horn count as "being hardy"?

Watering the plants whilst wearing a watch that only has 50m water resistance. I know how to live dangerously.

Can you tell me more about your band? My son plays trumpet/cornet and we're always on the look out for gigs to go to, assuming you're in London.

Hey! Yeah they're called London Euphonia Orchestra - a charity orchestra based in the City of London. Classical stuff mostly. https://www.londoneuphonia.com/

Only caveat is I'm about to have a second kid so am leaving for the time being. I'll return one day when time becomes a bit freer! How old is your son? They're always looking for brass players if he's old enough/reasonable standard?

Gigs are 3x a year and there's always the odd extra community event that pops up too. A lovely, friendly band but the standard fluctuates depending who is available each term.

Thanks Tony! Not due until 1st March but busy life means not doing the winter term with the orchestra.
    I trust all is good?

Some health issues over the course of this year, but doing okay otherwise, thanks. Anyway, by way of a heads-up the difference between one and two kids is about the same as the difference between none and one (just saying)

Sorry to hear that - here's hoping for a long clean bill of health from here on.

The "tool watches being hardy" photo thread

I always forget this thread - but in the last week, my GS Diver (the hi-beat 200m one) has been present to:

Collect, clean and (temp) layed 200 reclaimed quarry tiles.
    Re-mortar above a window frame
Clean my father’s flat what he was in hospital (a 2-day task!!)
    Got pissed up
    Hit a few golf balls
A day re-painting our unit floor and walls today,

    And earned a Stella!
Sorry I have no hardy photos - will try to remember tomorrow when I split a load of wood

Brilliant! Thanks for the info, and the name rings a bell. I'll look them up and see if he'd be suitable. He's 16 and grade 5, but he's come on in leaps and bounds since we found a new teacher.

And congratulations on number 2. That's when life really gets interesting

    Thank you!
Not to put you off, as I'm not involved in recruitment but realistically I suspect Grade 5 isn't quite where they'd want him. I don't think they'd stop a 16 year old joining either but I think the youngest we've had in my time is 18 so maybe if he keeps progressing he'd be perfect in a couple of years.

Great week away skippering on the canals. No need to test the waterproof qualities of this fortunately:)
