Ive seen and tried it on, its a very very cool thing but you need to be Arnold or Shaquille size to wear it and not look stupid.
My AD sold it to a guy who actually dives a lot and is quite big.

    Translation:

You now have the honor of being available to waste money paying full price for unwanted full gold watches that will be on discount soon once the recession really hits!

Not Rolex specifically but interesting pointer as to the state of the market generally:

Watches of Switzerland shares plunge on profit warning

London-listed retailer’s shares drop 30% as it lowers guidance following ‘volatile trading’

    https://www.ft.com/content/ffb0ac19-...1-b2dab17705a1

Floated at 270p in May 2019.

So on investor call this morning they noted that they couldn't get enough precious metal Rolex and that drove down average selling price.

Also the middle market is flat.

Was in Leeds the other day and saw the new (?) Prestons Rolex store in the Leeds Gate centre. Large and expensive looking! Usual windows with exhibition only - and not any professional models at all, though I was only dashing past. Might have been the odd gold Daytona and YMII for sale.

Just had a look in Harrods Rolex outlet. Only saw one watch that was not labelled as exhibition. It was a two tone Yacht Master. Staff looked pretty bored - nobody even approached me to suss me out.

Interesting that there are any steel models for sale. EBay sellers still look for a profit on a Exp II.

The Rolex boutique in Harrods has always been a bit naff in my experience. Bad vibe in there, staff disinterested, not recommended.

Similar stuff in window of manchester Trafford. When I asked if they were for sale they laughed and said exhibition only.
They’d forgotten to put the sign in.

I commented that a black explorer 2 can’t have much of a wait, and she said “oh yes we have lists back to 2020”….. aye ok then!

Seems WOS group now show prices on all the watches.
But they’re still not for sale. Looks like that will be the case with the root beer above.

The staff will be brassed off. They’ve probably only just got the great unwashed used to the idea that no price = exhibition only, so don’t ask.

Lee dont know if you ventured into the precinct by Boodle and Dunthorne. Up there on the right is a Watchlab type shop. It often has up to twenty sports Rolex’s in stock at sky high priices eg Hulks at £22k. As the prices have fallen so has their expectations, but their stock level is higher than ever.

Lastly just above Mappin and Web on the Rows, is another grey , who usually has six to ten sports Rolex in stock but never advertises the prices.

Unfortunately the OH was in tow so watch browsing was curtailed.

Feedback I got from Goldsmiths Meadowhall was there’s still a huge waitlist on Subs, regardless of configuration

Last time I was up there everything had exhibition only labels in the windows and through out the store. The Sales Assistant was clear that they had more waitlist names than watches for sale. That was a month ago.

    Maybe it’s changed now

I do wonder if this is a sales tactic to push you towards the Certified Pre Owned route? I enquired in Goldsmiths in Newcastle and was told there is still at least a five year wait for a ND sub- so perhaps I’d be more interested in their (over priced IMO) pre owned stock? I politely declined.

Latest displays I’ve seen all have prices and one exhibition card per window display.

If you go in store there is usually one cabinet with stuff for sale. Full gold and Oysterflex skydwellers and the like.

Not a lot of point waiting to see what comes out next month as it won’t be available to most on here for several years at least. I’m surprised the JC is still going, could be a contender for being discontinued, who knows.

If it’s a watch you want and have waited two years for it, then go for it. You do see a lot second hand and the prices have fallen, so only buy if it’s a keeper. I don’t think many of the normal models are instant cash machines these days, which is how it should be.

You’ll be waiting a while. I think general timeline is first sales are sept-ish and good luck being the first.

I got very lucky with my dblue 136660 and bought in Dec 2022 which was allegedly the first one the AD got. I had previously bought the dblue 126660 from them too.

I agree, its nice to actually see these in the shops, plus with the bubble burst a bit id feel a bit less nervous wearing out although not on show too much, after the long wait and looking at the pictures im not sure if the JC is the version i want now lol, maybe the black face like i owned about 10 years ago:-)

I wonder how many people on these lists will go ahead and actually purchase when getting the call now? Or could it be that they assumed they'd never get the call, so put themselves on it anyway so they could tell their mates.

"Oh look, there's a queue. Let's go and join it".

According to 2-3 reliable and established AD's I know they are getting about a 1 in 10 on Precious metals and 1 in 3 for steel sports. Usually with a 24hr pause whilst the customer quickly will try to sell on quickly before collecting.

Because I dont register with AD's routinely and just need a new one be that RRP or a smidge over for convenience and it required for sept so perhaps it will help a forum member looking to boost favour if they have decided to cant collecting as they cant profit much
