In Tenerife on holiday and convinced now her indoors that now was the time to pull the trigger on my next watch. I assumed (incorrectly) that purchasing a Rolex on a tax free island would afford me a hefty reduction on uk prices only to find that a new batman in the EU retails at €8350 (£7100) whereas in the uk they are £5950 new!!
Apparently this is because the pound has devalued whereas Rolex hasn't increased prices in line with the weakening pound!!
Call to my local AD tells me that they have a 12 person waiting list and that they arrive in store every 6 months
Sad to say I paid the premium and bought the 6 month old model on watchfinder.....it'll be a keeper and I'll pass it onto my lad so worth the hit yo get my hands on one I my book.....
And it'll compliment my sub 16610 nicely
No wonder rolex holds their value do well when demand so far outstrips supply!!

Must say I wouldn’t pay over retail for any watch, certainly not if pre-owned, but it’s your money.
I was just thinking of posting a thread earlier, but thought it a bit girly - it was about the Rolex Blue...
IMHO they currently offer the most stunning shade of blue - the BLNR and steel YMII are the best examples I can offer, just sublime.
I'd like to point out that not all rolexes are in high demand and, so, therefore, not all rolexes have a 6 month waiting list.
It's true that those that do are indeed nicer and more interesting such as this one.

Lovely watch OP but you could probably have got a new one from an AD with a few phone calls.
I enquired about one in July and got a call early August. In the end I turned it down and decided to keep my 16710.
Are you sure you never worked in Mansfield?
