    The Night Of (no spoilers)

I searched and couldn't find it mentioned. Even then I think it deserves its own thread.

Great one off series (although there is talk of series 2 if it's worth doing) and well worth watching.

The first episode really hooked me in and I couldn't wait to finish it.

My wife wants to watch it with me so we're going to start tonight I think. Of course me being the patriotic cynic asked why, if we're going to watch an American series based on BBC's Criminal Justice, we don't just watch Criminal Justice instead but apparently it doesn't work like that.

Yes, The Night Of. Im glad I watched the HBO series instead of Criminal Justice when I looked into them both a while ago when The Night Of finished. The characters seem to have been reviewed to have a lot more subtlety and depth in the HBO version. I might try and watch the 'original', at some point. If I had watched it I wonder if I would have an open mind to watching the latest version.

It was pretty good, you can see parts of the plot opening up, the guy on the motor bike? the "nice" plain clothes cop, bet he aint that nice, the attorney, hes going to be a big part, looking forward to it, clever of sky to remind you its all available on box set (at a price)

never watched Criminal Justice but on Ep 3 now and loving it......

well love maybe not but enjoying it....

the things I like .... the really horrid grimy filth of New York in reality....not the super shiny slick Manhattan from say Suits,
(I know totally different type of show but you know what I mean)

but the detail of the run down shabby buildings/railings/police station and so on....

PS should there be a Spoiler warning heading on here (I nearly didn't click on in case as want to watch it through)

if it's going to be talked about then fine I'll keep away-but if it's general chat without giving plot away then can carry on

Absolutely brilliant, I watched all the episodes in two days and I loved it. If you're in need for something to watch I would recommend it. Brilliant acting, just wonderful.

Criminal Justice had Ben Whishaw as the lead actor and it/he was exceptionally good.
