Is it still 250 posts before you can sell on the sales corner?

    sorry I don't know

but it is sad you have to worry about asking the question, judge dredd will be along in a minute

if he's on your side you are on a winner, if not he will be in the Bear Pit slagging you off for not searching or some other heinous crime.

    meantime save your money.

Is it 250 to comment on someone else's sales post as well ? I've 102 posts in 12 months, I'm a reader not a writer I suppose, at this rate I should be able to sell something in about another 18 months !!!

You just have to check what tabs are there. I think you can respond to a WTB, but in order to list an item in SC you need to see the post a new listing tab at the top. Have a check in the various sections and see what tabs you have.

Why do you want to comment on sales posts? I would be careful about doing that...

To let the seller know you've sent a message, you often see "pm sent" or you might be interested in an item but need some more info. Why is everyone so suspicious around here ???

It's trolling thing, don't pay much attention.

Asking for more info is fine, but you don't want to be seen to be trashing a sale. Sometimes it is better to ping the seller a PM and if they want to add that information to their listing etc that is up to them.

Some recent sales have had more postings and viewings than virtually anything else on the entire TZ site - which is not always good.

I hate the "pm sent" because it may put off other buyers. Why do you think someone selling a watch will not be able to see he has been sent a pm unless you spell it out in the sales thread? Just send a pm and shut up.

I think people just want to call dibs on something and if the seller sells to someone else they'll say "but I replied PM SENT in your listing and now you have to sell to me na na na na... I'll sue you!".

    Meh...

The seller sells to whom they want / but trustworthy sellers do tend to follow etiquette. This is a, 'friendly place to discuss watches'

To be honest I often thought it would be nice to be able to chip in and say "gorgeous looking watch, I'd love to buy it if I had the loot, good luck with the sale!" It's sometimes the only comment I personally feel qualified to make. The knowledge about watches in the forum is way beyond the point where I would ever feel I had anything useful to add.

i too spent many an hour drooling over the for sale items, I find it much safer than getting involved in some of the running conflicts

And why would you want to comment this? Besides, no need for it as someone will have posted it already before you have a chance....

If I wanted to annoy someone selling a watch I would post the dreaded "PM sent" every time. The PM would of course simply be wishing him a nice day or perhaps some absurd low ball, but you get the picture. Posting "PM sent" is just obnoxious.

Sales Corner is full of these brainless posts, I never understood the point of them. Why would anybody be interested in the fact that you might would if only you could?

If you wanted, you could expose yourself as a complete idiot by using twatspeak a la "Funds permitting, I would bite your arm off" or "mine says hi".

    Don't forget "pull the trigger".

There's no better way to wind up the genuine sellers than by posting inane comments on other people's sales posts, thereby bumping these to the top and relegating sales posts from those who use Sales Corner properly to the second or third page within a day.

Just don't do it. Sales posts are not discussion posts.
