Incoming! Just purchased a new Rolex 114300.

Photos to follow but just purchased a new 114300. I walked in off the street and got a 5% discount, never even been there before. I had enquirerd about buying the same watch off my local AD were I have bought 2 speedmaster, navitimer, planet ocean, and a seamaster.

The same sales man who sold me all these watches laughted when I looked for discount. He said he might be able to get 2.5% but he'd "ask" the boss.

Should I be happy with my 5% discount ? I feel chuffed.

Be chuffed with the watch, the discount is the cherry on top.

Which colour dial did you go for?

I'm not on the market for one myself however I think that the grape is lovely, though I'd probably bottle it and get the rhodium dial instead...

I went with the rodium dial. For me it was a simple choice.

Which AD did you get it from?

Thinking about the red grape one myself.

That's 5% more than I got. Got nothing more than a free polishing cloth thrown in!

I've been reading about these. Great specifications. Same movement as the Explorer and lots of choice - 39mm or the more classic 36mm sizes and dial colours. Makes me double think about the Exporer but will hold on decision till seeing the Explorer in the flesh.

    Good choice OP!

If it wasn't for the blue pips, I'd own one of those by now!

Thank you! I agree the 39mm case is just right on this model.I think it will stand the test of time.

I've tried one on three times because in every other way it's the perfect "one watch" for me!

Perhaps I need to try again!

I prefer the bezel on these to the Explorer. Congrats on a great purchase

How did you find the bracelet size? I was going to try one on last week in my local AD and the bracelet would not open up enough to go on - I did wonder if they had taken a link out or something but they said not.
I had trouble with some 36mm DJ models but not all - the salesperson said some arrive with one less link?

I have a 7 inch wirst so I could fit it on fine, but the bracelet wouldn't take a whole lot more in it.

Really like these, love the rhodium dial, but then read the article on Hodinkee about the Grape. I guess the best thing to do is try them on.Well done on your 5% discount.

I've seen a couple of people with these recently and the blue doesn't scream at you on someone else's wrist. Get one now before the rumoured price increase!

Second hand so someone else took the hit. It was bought in an Irish AD 4 months ago!
