    Hello from the new guy

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on here. I've been browsing the forum for a while now so thought I better sign up and say thanks to you all for all the info i've learnt from here over the past 6 months or so.

Here a are a few from my collection, let me know what you think.

Sorry if the images are too big.

And a very good afternoon to you. Some classic watches there, I seem to detect you've a bit of a fondness for the Japanese ones :)

Welcome to the forum . Nothing wrong with the image size or, indeed, the watches.

The Turtle is awesome. Still kind of in the honeymoon period with it, but I struggle to wear anything else at the moment as nothing else feels as prominent on the wrist. Very comfy too!

I think it mainly comes down to funds. It's easy to justify the cost of these watches when you get such great bang for your buck.

Haha it is a beast. I snowboard every year and this is a great tool for the slopes. Altitude, compass etc. It's also a great teething toy for my twin girls

Have you got the model ref handy (or a link)? I have switched from 'want' to 'need' now!

How do you feel it compares to the SKX? Is the quality noticeably different? I'm undecided between the two at the moment so would like a first hand opinion.

Oh, and welcome from another new guy.

The overall quality are on par with each other, although the Turtle is noticeably bigger and heavier on the wrist. I think it just comes down to whether you prefer heavier watches or not.

You can't go wrong with SKX and it suits pretty much any strap so you can have a lot of fun with it.

And an immediate impact on the forum too: convincing Lewis of the virtues of G-Shocks! :)

Hello, and a fellow West Berks member I notice! Some nice pieces there, I too have a few Orients and Seikos. I keep meaning to do my introduction thread here, still not got around to it!

I do like the Mako in blue. I've got a Mako XL with orange bezel but not handled a "normal" Mako in the metal.

Ah small world (sort of). It is a lovely watch and the Blue is very striking. Looks great on a brown leather strap.

Luckily their mother is a hero so for me it is very easy. Did you receive my PM? I sent it from my phone so not sure if it worked.

What am I missing. I know it's personal preference and all that......but what watch do YOU think would fill any gaps in the collection.
Small budget - less than £500.
I'm quite liking the idea of a brass or bronze watch like a Armida a1 or similar.

    Any thoughts? Please be nice.

Hello, from another new guy. They are a pleasant sort this lot! I have to post pics of mine once I have my tool/dress watch sorted and my granddads Olma fixed.

Back on to topic. It seems you have a penchant for divers and if you want to stick with that then the Armida is a good looking watch in my opinion. Looking at what you have in your collection I would want something different and would go one of two ways. Either a flieger style, say a Speedbird III or go vintage and get a 1960/70 Omega. Plenty of different ones out there, but I'd go with a Seamaster 600.
